Not the right place for a short visit

The hotel was pretty good but a few draw backs. My room wasn’t entirely clean when I checked in. There were dead bugs in the bathroom and crumbs on the counter. If you stay less than 7 days, they do not provide house keeping to clean your room. You have to request it for an extra fee. They will not let you check in before 3:00 PM. I asked politely if it would be possible and I was hit with an unpleasant “no”. If you book through hotels.com, they will make you fill out a credit card processing sheet. They will charge you $250 deposit for accidentals and I am having a lot of issues getting it back at the moment. If you are coming for a short weekend, I would not recommend the place. If you’re coming for an extended stay, this would be a great place.

I loved staying at AKA The WhiteHouse. I stayed for 2 nights with my husband and daughter in a 2 bedroom. It was perfect for our quick getaway to Washington D.C. We were blocks away from the real White House and all of the great restaurants and museums.

Good size but dated apartments, great location

Great location but the hotel rooms vary, some are very dated and furniture in bad condition. I had changed the rooms after my room was ‘inspected’ and I was blamed for being unreasonable regarding the furniture condition. The management of the hotel should train the employees on customer service and should invest in refurbishing. The size of the flats is great and there is a lot of potential for this hotel to be really fantastic.

Very large apartment- style rooms with all the major amenities. Clean and comfortable. Great location not far from the White House, great for visiting the city. No room cleaning for seven days was ok for us, but could be questionable Bit more amenities: safe deposit box, tissues, tea and coffee in the rooms could improve the experience

Comfortable for family travel

It was a nice two bedroom apt. Only weird thing was the layout of the middle bedroom since there was no window you need the heaviest sleeper in that room since you can hear everything in the kitchen and living space since that’s where they faced the windows. Clean though and very quiet. No frills kind of place but very nice for a family vacation and close to everything.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. Customer service at the front desk was great. My boyfriend and I were visiting the area for his birthday and I made that comment on the reservation. They were kind enough to write a card and leave chocolates in the room for check-in. Very accommodating and friendly. Hope to visit again!

Soap and coffee filters please

The unit was fabulous, spacious, comfortable and clean. The location is convenient. It lacked some basics that I generally do not travel with and had to go out and buy: dish soap and coffee filters to name a couple. The overnight parking was very expensive.
