It's located 1,050 kilometres west of Washington, the capital city of United States of America.

Mother Nature's artwork is on display in many places around Wapella. Just 25 kilometres away, Moraine View State Park is a great place to kick off your sightseeing. Railsplitter State Park sits 40 kilometres away and is another popular spot to enjoy some peace and quiet.

You'll find even more just down the road. Clinton, 9 kilometres to the south, is popular for the Dewitt County Museum and Weldon Springs State Park. Though, if the Woodlawn Country Club and Weedman Park are more appealing, travel 25 kilometres east from Wapella to Farmer City.

Streator, 100 kilometres to the north, is worth a day trip. Use it as a base when stopping by the Streatorland Historical Museum, Streator City Park and the Anderson Fields Golf Course. If you need more persuading, other nearby sights include Weber House and Garden and Spring Lake Park.
