Housekeeping gripes

There were a number of housekeeping gripes. Reception handled them all well and notified the appropriate people. Settee not clean enough to sit on. Shower needs deep clean. Shower door does not close fully so water on bathroom floor. Bathroom shaver socket not working. Facilities in room were fine and we had an ok stay.

Our room smelled of cigarette smoke and my friend had rubbish outside of her room. The lift was really slow and used by housekeeping staff - surely they should have a staff lift? The bed was comfy though and the breakfast was good.

Booked in to tiny room with broken fridge, light & curtains didn't shut properly so asked to change rooms which they did. No parking so had to park on the road & walk quite a way with a toddler & bags. Breakfast items needed topping up & took ages to replenish. This is a very run down hotel. Furnishings get shabby over time which is understandable - but there’s no excuse for poor cleaning. Others have made the same comments on various review sites, but it seems management haven’t listened. The bed had no mattress protector and a thin sheet not even big enough to cover the bed so the mattress was exposed at the sides. There was sticky gunge on the bedside table, grime around the shower door, and a completely unscrewed hinge on the window which had been bodged up with a piece of wood.

NOT for Business.

The staff were very accommodating but the room was really tired and unclean. There was a lipstick mark in the net curtains, dirty mug in the tea / coffee offering and a couple of long hairs languishing in the shower. The foyer for the lift on my floor (6th) had a dented radiator and a huge dent in the gypsum wall adjacent. This made everything look even more dishevelled. NOT acceptable

Convenient and central but a bit tired.

Good central position although limited parking. My main concern was the housekeeping and general tiredness of the property. Must be due an overhaul. But the general cleanliness of the hotel particularly the room I stayed in was not good and requires an inspection. Decor was really tired.
