All good except when arriving at the room, the toilet had an awful smell of chemicals or detergent, so an unpleasant welcome at the room level, but at the check in stage the reception staff was very pleasant and friendly to ensure a good check-in process
Staff were generally pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, there was an unreasonable stand taken on our first night, when the”systems went down” and we could not put our meal bill on the room. Also, the TV never worked during our stay in spite of everyone seeming to know what was wrong with it. No-one came to fix it. The breakfast was OK but, at dinner, they had no prawns (it was on the menu) and the steak was the smallest I’d ever seen. We held our wedding reception here 55 years ago. It was a lot better then. All in all, disappointing.
This is a beautiful hotel, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spotless and very spacious. Lots of lovely little things left out for us on arrival, waters, biscuits etc.
Loved every bit of the stay apart from the room 404 not hanging blackout blinds do at 6am the sun was bursting through the curtains. Bed was comfy though.

The bathroom was in need of some cleaning & repair. Lights above bathroom sink were loose, hanging down and flickered if touched not ideal above water/sink and the shower hose was unclean and riddled in mildew
The staff were very attentive, rooms lovely , perhaps little paint touch up needed but that’s just being picky. Breakfast simply, yum . Lots of different options . I would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area
