We hear ya! That plane flying overhead released your inner explorer, right? Then a trip to Umok might just sort you out! From here, you'll be able to step off the tourist trail and explore the pleasant coastal plains of North Gyeongsang.

South Korea's capital city, Seoul, sits about 230 kilometres to the northwest of Umok.

Nothing comes close to watching a sunset at the seaside. During your stay, spend a few hours at Gyeongju World California Beach, 80 kilometres to the east.

The splendour of Mother Nature can be found around Umok. Just 30 kilometres away, Gayasan National Park is an excellent place to start. Mt. Biseul sits 20 kilometres away and is another pleasant spot to find some peace and quiet.

Experience the thrill of attending a live soccer match at Daegu World Cup Stadium, the home of the Daegu FC. After you've cheered along with their passionate fans, why not get a drink with a few of them somewhere nearby? To reach the arena, head 25 kilometres east to Daegu.

The Kyungpook National University and the Daegu National Museum are close to the centre of Daegu, 14 kilometres to the east. Need more? Goryeong, 19 kilometres to the southwest of Umok, boasts Goryeong Daegaya Historic Site and Dodongseowon Confusian School.

Gyeongju, 80 kilometres to the east, may be right up your alley. You can use it as a port of call when swinging by the Gyeongju National Museum, Bomun Lake and the Bunhwangsa Temple. If you'd like more persuading, other nearby attractions include Gyeongju World Culture Expo Park and Royal Tomb of Queen Seondeok.
