Holidays in Titjikala

We all know — an adventurous life is a life well-lived. So dig out your passport, pack your bags and say hello to Titjikala!

It's situated 1,850 kilometres northwest of Canberra, the country's capital.

Rock climbing and mountain climbing are both very popular with the locals. These pastimes will allow you to experience this exciting region from a completely different perspective.

If you're feeling a bit stressed, take the chance to be at one with nature and go bird watching. If that's not your cup of tea, camping might leave you feeling more relaxed.

Why waste valuable time putting together an itinerary when the hard work has already been taken care of? Guided nature walks, wildlife spotting tours and wildlife safaris take the headache out of sightseeing.

Feel the adrenaline course through your veins and then a little tranquillity as you give hot air ballooning a try. You'll certainly have some wild stories to tell once you've come back down to earth!

The region's art museums, art galleries and craft workshops offer something for all ages. Take a look inside and find out what's happening.

Keeping your eyes peeled for an outdoor activity that will please everyone? The local area offers visitors some fantastic open-air museums and open-air exhibits.

'There is no love sincerer than the love of food,' George Bernard Shaw once wrote, but add travel to the mix and it's a marriage made in heaven. You're invited to indulge in two of your biggest loves by eating and drinking your way through Red Centre.

Do you like your beef? How about lamb? Whether you're wild about them or not, they are some ingredients regularly used in the cuisine here.

No food-loving adventurer would visit Titjikala without experiencing a handful of the signature dishes, such as salt and pepper squid and meat pie.

Dessert is always a good idea on holiday, so why not indulge in some peach melba? It's worth every heavenly calorie!

Good news, beer freaks. There are some lip-smacking brews to toss back here. Chill out with a glass of Carlton Draught in a nice bar and remember to text everyone back home, 'Wish you were beer'.

Straight or mixed — the barkeeper will know the nicest way to drink Bundaberg Spiced Rum. If the night nods for something with a bit more zing, this tipple can't be beaten!

Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Riverina Chardonnay are wonderful complements to nearly any meal. You don't have to be an authority on wine to appreciate a decent drop!

With just a little bit of your holiday allowance left, remember to grab some mementos of the incredible Red Centre region before you say your final goodbye.

Need to know where the closest airport is? Well, it's Alice Springs Airport (ASP) and it is 100 kilometres to the north.

Room was lovely, only stayed one night due to flight the next day. We had a bungalow room which had its own bbq. Faced the pool. We stayed here 10 years ago and standard was still as good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definately recommend.
