No parking fees

Unfortunately, it was raining all day and my umbrella broke. I requested the receptionist if we could have a loan of one, which was quickly refused! We got all wet on the way to an evening meal.

Smelly and outdated horrible staff.

Tue check in amd check out staff very ignorant. Especially the night one i asked if there was water in the room as we had just arrived from our wedding . He said NO you have to buy some and at £4.50 for water only to get to the room to see there is water . The check out lady only asked where is breakfast area for her to just point without looking .

Beautiful hotel but tired.

Hotel looking a little tired. Could do with redecorating in most places. Having said that room was good. Bed comfy. Staff extremely friendly and were very very helpful. Beautiful breakfast in the morning.

Although we had an ok stay, it was a convenient location , but deco extremely tired , desperate need addressing. We paid £260 for 2 nights excluding breakfast I don’t expect peeling wallpaper in pretty much the whole room for this price. We paid £14.95 each for breakfast only had the 1 morning as this was also disappointing. Seriously needs improvement

Great character and location

We stayed just one night to break up a long journey - the hotel looks like it could do with a makeover as it is a great building with lots of character. We had easy parking and the location is fantastic being an easy walk into the town centre.

Upon arriving at the cairn hotel the driveway had ample space for entry and parking. The entrance to the hotel was extremely clean, the staff were welcoming, helpful and very pleasent. I would recommend a vacation here, you will have a great time and leave with a smile 😊

Lovely place to stay in a lovely area.

We only stayed one night, but we found the hotel to be inan excellent location to enjoy a beautiful evening in Harrogate. The hotel is a classic old grand hotel with all the charm you would expect from such a place. It has all the lovely touches you need and it is such a refreshing difference from the modern quite sterile luxury chains. To top it off we had a lovely day in Knaresborough just a few minutes drive away the next day and i definitely see us coming back to the area and this hotel.

Fantastic staff, tired building.

What I have to say about this hotel is that all staff are friendly, knowledgeable and a credit to the hotel. My room was absolutely spotless (massive credit to housekeeping), really well appointed, comfortable bed with a lovely modern bathroom…just don’t look out of the window! My wooden windows were going rotten, a bit like the whole of the outside building. This hotel needs a lot of money spending on the actual building to bring it up to scratch. I feel sorry for the staff, as I kind of felt that their professionalism and great attitude was let down by a very tired building.
