I booked this hotel through Expedia for 3 rooms for a late night return flight from Venice. I booked to pay on arrival. For some reason, on the 20th September, a payment was taken by the hotel. I messaged them via Expedia on the 20th, no response, i messaged again on the 24th, still no response. I rang on the 27th and after 15 minutes on the call, it got answered then cut off. I rang again and 7 minutes later I was told this would be looked into and I would be called back. That didn't happen. I rang again on the 29th and was told this had been looked into and a mysterious sometime had taken the payment it was a genuine mistake and wouldn't be a problem, we could pay the balance on arrival. Go to 03:15 on the 19th October. We arrive after a delayed flight. I speak to reception to check us in. They only have one room booked and no trace of any pre-payment. I had the presence of mind to record the conversations I had and played them back, including the part where I stated I did not want any issues at check in following our early morning arrival. I had to email that recording and I also emailed my confirmation from Expedia as proof. It turns out the mysterious someone had not recorded the details of the issue I had with the pre-payment so they knew nothing of this. Eventually 3 rooms were secured and I was able to only pay the balance which I had to calculate for them. I'm not blaming the night staff, but this was atrocious. It didn't improve in the morning.

On arrival/check in the member of staff on the deck was rude and not very forthcoming with information regarding my stay, like breakfast times and where to find the room. After finding the room I got inside to find a stained carpet and the room had a damp smell, this was bad enough for me to carry my bags back to the front deck and ask for a different room. When asked why I showed the rude woman a video I took of the carpet. Her reply was it’s not a dirty carpet but just an old carpet. The second room that I was given was just as bad. I did ask for my money back but was told they couldn’t because the booking was made through a third party. I’m going to upload all of the photos I took of the rooms. I also want to mention the photos on the website don’t not reflect this hotel at all.

Good Location but that’s all.

No food available when though we were told the restaurant was open until 20:30 and we requested food at 8pm. No choice at the bar, no lime, stood at the bar for 10 mins before anyone came to serve us. Generally tired hotel. Breakfast was average at best and coffee machines didn’t work properly and the drinks were Luke warm. Bread was moldy. Very noisy at night and woke up to noisy waste disposal outside the room.

Shocking Hotel stay

Not the best start, we arrived Friday and the reception charged me nearly the same price for my room as the price for 2 that was booked even though I showed confirmation. One room the door wouldn’t lock and could be pushed open without using key, when questioned at reception I was told to wait and someone would see me, half hour later we eventually had to the explain again to someone about the door not closing, after a time we asked to be given another room only to be told there wasn’t one and when I said I wanted a refund and I would go somewhere else miraculously they found a new room. Staff are not friendly also in the bar we got a drink and the service was terrible with our glasses and bottles being slammed on the bar. No smiles either civility doesn’t cost anything. For a stay that should have cost £300. they tried to charge £364. Hotels.com please be aware they are blaming you for sending the wrong prices to them, I eventually got my money back from them. Also breakfast was a shambles, food not hot and looked like it wasn’t cooked properly, today we waited for 20 mins to even be seen to let them know we arrived, eventually we walked out and went to the local Tesco cafe for a well cooked and hot breakfast. Overall I think this hotel needs a massive shake up and staff need to be retrained to treat people with respect and I and all of my friends will definitely never stay there again. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Never ever ever will I stay there.

Needs redecorating

My partner & I booked a double room, but on arrival were given a twin as no double rooms were available, after 1 night, we saw water dripping from the light in the bathroom & a big lump of human poo on the shower curtain, even though the cleaner had just left our room & failed to notice this, the head cleaner happened to knock on our door to check it had been cleaned shortly after, she was very apologetic, helpful & moved us to a double room immediately, the hotel is definitely overdue for redecorating

It was just off the M11 - convenient for where we were going- was ok for one night- room & linen was clean. Good choice for breakfast. Be warned- you have to pay for parking at the hotel!!

The room was noisy, kept awake by the traffic, tv is freveiw and has no access to netflix or any other streaming platform, i have stayed in cheaper hotels and had that option, not asking you to pay for it, but at least have the option to allowme to sign in the my own account, can do this at premier inn or holiday express, and the cheaper place i stayed the night before and will be staying tonight, as only £50, breakfast was ok, parking bays are tiny just about get out of you car
