The Strand accommodation with pool

Property is very old and dated but clean. Family room would benefit from the addition of electric frying pan/benchtop cooker and a larger fridge. Proximity to staff entry for restaurant made our room quite noisy late at night. Location was great. Right across from lagoon and beach & The Strand restaurants within an easy walk. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Great location, worked really well for a quick visit to Townsville. Easy parking, on the Strand and lots of food options nearby.

Beautiful big room, renovations happening atm, so a bit chaotic, it will be nice once it's all done and all the kinks worked out, here are a few things that should be noted atm but will probably be rectified over time. No parking available, had to try to get street parking, which is paid parking through weekdays. No hot water in the shower. Renovations happening atm and the paint and glue smell in the foyer and hallways was strong. Renovated room was nice but the floor still felt dusty and had sand grit. The safe locked me out, no big deal, just had to get reception to come up with the key. The aircon dripped constantly behind the bed head.

We had a nice day until we reach this place and wanted to check in. The receptionist/ the person handles the check in was very rude, very unprofessional and very unwelcoming - not hospitable knowing they are in hospitality industry. Dealing with a loss with a family doesn't give you the right to treat your guests bad.

The hotel was clean and well-designed and stylish. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in & out process was quick and easy. The room was spacious and well-maintained. The bed & pillow was very comfortable. The swimming pool was really good especially the parasols and the swimming bed colour were super nice (instagrammable colours around the hotel).
