Lovely Hotel

Another excellent stay at the Mill Hotel. Lovely staff friendly and helpful. 10 mins from train station 4 mins from bus station. Close to town centre.

Nice to be by the canal but the outdoor seating was not clean and the outdoor seating at the front was overlooking the car parks. Had to walk through a run down area from the train station to get to the hotel, and to get into town you had to walk through/over a busy underpass. Room was spacious but was not cleaned properly over the four days we were there. Dirty glasses left in room the entire time. Cheap flimsy plastic mugs provided instead of glasses. The fan in the bathroom would not turn off and whistled loudly the whole time. Breakfast was good but would have liked some fresh fruit salad.

For a 3 star hotel cant praise The Mill highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble. Having secure parking opposite was a bonus

Hotel needs refurbishment

The staff were helpful and the room clean. The problem the hotel has is that the rooms are extremely dated and have a strange layout. The interior of the hotel is very tired and badly needs refurbishment.

An AMAZING hotel, well situated, good food, wonderful staff and fabulous rooms. We stayed here as I was running the Chester Half. One of the reasons I booked to stay here (again, we’d stayed in March for the Chester 10K) was because they serve breakfast earlier than the advertised times for the runners (and their partners).Most of the other hotels we’ve stayed in previously don’t start breakfast on a Sunday to 8 o’clock isn’t ideal when the race starts at 9. Needless to say, I have already booked to stay here for the Chester marathon in October … and the Chester 10k and half marathon next year too. Next time I’ll be packing my costume so I can use the spa - I keep forgetting to do that.
