Tát is a place with heaps of cool stories to tell. If you reckon your life's been a bit dull lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

From Tát, journey 160 kilometres west to find Eisenstadt, a well-known city. You can also head 180 kilometres west to visit another excellent city, Vienna.

Gardony Beach and Balatonalmadi Beach should be on your hit list if you want to go somewhere to sit back and unwind.

You don't need to be stuck in a car all day to witness a bit of nature. Just 40 kilometres out of Tát, the Budapest Castle Hill Funicular is a fabulous place to kick back and unwind. More picturesque surrounds are waiting for you at Palvolgyi Cave, 35 kilometres away.

Are you a keen sports fan? Then you should check the event schedule at Groupama Arena, located 45 kilometres to the southeast in Jozsefvaros.

The bright white landscapes of Epleny Ski Arena and Nordica Síaréna are a dream for powder fiends. Put on your skis and cut up the thrilling trails.

There's even more to see and do just down the road. Sturovo, 6 kilometres to the northeast, is popular for Esztergom Basilica and Maria Valeria Bridge. Though, if Castle of Esztergon and the Christian Museum are more appealing, go 7 kilometres southeast from Tát to Dorog.

Both tourists and locals often make the journey to Baj. This place is 25 kilometres to the southwest and quite close to Calvary Chapel, Castle Tata and the Museum of Greek and Roman Sculptures. If you're planning to stay a while, remember to swing by Geologic Nature Park and the Old Lake Golf Club.

Celebrated throughout the entire country, Saint Stephen's Day occurs on the 20th of August. If you're lucky enough to be here at this time, it'll be difficult not to get swept up in all the action!
