There's only 1 hotel within 10 kilometres of the centre of Tanmok, so you'll need to move faster than a kid hyped up on red cordial if you want somewhere to stay close by.

City slickers will want to snap up a room at the Jinju DongBang Hotel, as it's the only available place close to all the main areas.

An additional Tanmok option is the Asia Lakeside Hotel, 13 kilometres from central Tanmok.

But don't just limit your sightseeing to Tanmok. Take an extra day or two to experience some of the awesome sights and activities that the wider South Gyeongsang region has to offer. Don't even think about going home without visiting a few of the region's gorgeous coastal plains, forests and rivers. Ruins, traditional villages and old towns are also worth a look around. Those with a good appetite for adventure can also go mountain climbing in this part of South Korea.

Looking for things to do? Kick back and spend the day visiting the Nabi Saengtae Park and the Boriam Temple. You'll find them in Namhae, 50 kilometres to the south of Tanmok. If you want to spend a few nights in Namhae, look into the Pension Manoa and Opera House Pension. 60 kilometres to the southeast of Tanmok you can also stay at Geoje, which is home to the Geoje Tourist Hotel and Samsung Hotel Geoje. Geoje POW Camp and Geoje Okpo Daecheop Ginyeom Park are among the more popular places to check out while in Geoje.

Sitting 75 kilometres northeast of Tanmok is Daegu, a regional centre with a population of 2,600,000. It's where you'll find some awesome attractions, like the Daegu Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine, Apsan Park and Dongsan Bowling Center. If you decide to hang out for a while, continue on and check out the vibe at Daegu Cultural and Arts Hall History of Soil Hall and E-World. There are a great selection of accommodations in Daegu, with the Hotel Inter Burgo and Grand Hotel topping out the list.
