It's situated 380 kilometres northwest of Norway's capital, Oslo.

Take a journey out to Alesund, 11 kilometres to the southwest. When you arrive, you'll want to head straight over to Alesund Aquarium.

You may want to enjoy a sunset at Hellesylt Beach, 60 kilometres to the southeast.

You don't have to be stuck inside a car all day to see some nature. Just 35 kilometres out of Sovik, the Runde Environmental Centre is a superb place to fill your lungs with fresh air. More tranquil surrounds await at Mountain trips in Romsdal, 50 kilometres away.

Leave your phone in the glovebox and explore the calming sights and sounds of Sovik Harbor and Hamnsund Harbor.

Located 10 kilometres away, Color Line Stadium is a favourite for soccer supporters. Pack some orange and blue, and time your stay with a thrilling game featuring the home team, the Aalesunds FK. You can also cheer on the second home team, the Fortuna Ålesund.

Soak up the scenery from the chairlift at Skitours in Romsdalen as you plan your next run. Alongside Volda Ski Centre, this winter playground offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the region.

Go and enjoy the character of Hamsund Church.

It's always a shame to say "Ha det bra" to Sovik, but don't worry, it will still be there next time!

If you're travelling via air, it's wise to decide a route to the terminal beforehand. From the middle of Sovik, you'll need to go approximately 250 kilometres northeast to Vaernes Airport (TRD), the nearest airport.
