Breakfast was really nice, loads of choice and tasty. Staff were lovely, polite, professional and well mannered. Room was very nice and spacious, had a good night sleep and good selection of complimentary drinks. My only criticism was my shower wasn't powerfull with heat , the pole holding the shower head came loose and the carpet in my room had a few stains which was off putting, needs sorting out and cleaning properly to remove dark patches.

It need renovation

The carpet was dirty, in the room and on the common areas, the bathroom didn’t have all lights working and shower is very runout. The airconditioning wasn’t working in the room. I had a wonderful view of the pier but the window was so dirt and full of bird poo that made not as enjoyable as it should The main reason why I book there was to use the gym and it wasn’t open due maintenance issues.

Park Inn

Spacious room with sea view, excellent toiletries. Comfortbale bed. Friendly and helfpul staff. The double room had only one arm chair plus one upright chair. Minimal hanging space and no wardrobe or drawers. No small fridge. Poor heating controls. No hotel information or information on "What to do in Southend and area". Zero car parking facility.

Basic budget hotel, clean with large rooms and friendly staff. No parking and nearby parking over expensive. Used NCP car park next to station but bit of a walk if you have mobility issues or lots of luggage.

Had a great short stay, the hotel is in a great location, the staff were friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was good and the hotel is nice, but the carpets are tired and could do with replacing in some areas. Apart from that, i liked my stay.

Southend Penguin Waddle and Street Art

Brilliant. Comfy bed. Clean, spacious room. Water and coffee facilities available. Southend was brimming with street artists painting on buildings, Penguin statues scattered about the town and a treasure hunt! Best weekend ever. The Park Inn right on the sea front easiky accessible to all of it. Great fun.

Short seaside family break

Me and my family had a lovely time on our short break. Our room was a great size for a family room with a lovely sea view and It had enough beds for all of us which were very comfortably. The bathroom was tiny for a family rooom. The bathroom floor was bumpy and uneven to walk on. The toilet seat cover fell off. The flush buttons was too hard to push so the toilet never really cleared after each use. Also when we turned on one of the fans in the bedroom, so much thick dust came flying out of it that we had to turn it off immediately. But the breakfast the next day was great and all of the staff were lovely.

Give this one a steer…

First of all, the bed was so lumpy that you could barely sleep on it. You could actually see the lumps in the mattress as the devalue was sitting on it. Second of all, because I was in the room where they allow dogs, there were dog pee stains all over the carpet. There is no excuse for that from either the owners of the dogs or the hotel. There are products out there that will successfully remove pee stains as well as the smell from the dog pee. Additionally, because I had booked two nights in a row, but booked them separately, I asked when I checked in if I would have the same room. The clerk told me that yes I would have the same room. I received a call the next day where they had gone into my room and my stuff was still there. So I had to remind them that I had actually booked tonight. It was then that I was informed that I should have checked out and then checked back in. I don’t have a problem doing that, but I need to be told in advance that that’s what the expectation is. So I thought that was very unprofessional of them. Overall, it was not a good experience staying in this hotel.

It's a nice hotel in an excellent location. The staff was kind, breakfast was tasty and there was a great variety of food. The room was spacious with all the necessary facilities and nice big mirrors. As I read some of the previous comments about the cleanliness it was true that the carpet was stained. The windows are old, not double glazed, I couldn't fall asleep because of the sound of the wind. However, overall, we had a good stay here and we would return because there are more pros than cons.

In general everything was fine but that’s all it was - average. 1 pillow is actually quite uncomfortable. Broken windows which wouldn’t open. Air con not working. Flush very weak on the toilet. Bathroom had damp damage to walls, door and shower. 1 teabag total on tea making facilities. No hotel deal currently in place for parking making it £25 nearby which isn’t their fault as such but along with £140 for a room makes it a very expensive stay for the quality.
