How about meeting a few locals while you're in town? It shouldn't be too hard. Larnaca has a population of around 72,000 people. Once you've landed at Larnaca International Airport and grabbed your suitcase from the conveyor belt, Sotira is a drive of 30 kilometres to the northeast. From the city centre, it's 30 kilometres east.

Sotira is heaven on earth for sightseers. A good deal of the city's best attractions are dotted near this interesting neighbourhood, including Ayia Napa Monastery and Nissi Beach. You should also be sure to experience the THALASSA Municipal Museum and Grecian Bay Beach. While you're in town, think about exploring some other neighbourhoods to experience more of what Larnaca has to offer. Makronissos Beach and Liopetri are great suggestions that are within easy reach.

If you fancy browsing a few of the highlights in central Larnaca, head to the Mosque of Umm Haram and Larnaca Salt Lake. You'd be mad to go back to your hotel room without calling in at Finikoudes Beach and Europe Square as well.
