When your boss is on your back cos you've chucked too many sickies, it's time to break free from the nine-to-five and say hello to Skeabost!

The country's capital, Edinburgh, is located about 250 kilometres to the southeast of Skeabost.

Spend a few hours strolling along the shoreline at Luskentyre Beach or Barra Beach.

The calming sounds of the natural world are waiting for you at Old Man of Storr. It's located just 10 kilometres away, so you needn't be stuck on the road all day. Quiraing, 20 kilometres away, is another popular choice.

Get away from the bells and whistles of modern technology by spending a little time at Portree Harbour.

If you're considering venturing outwards, go 10 kilometres north to Portree. It's here you'll discover Kilt Rock and Skye Riding Centre. We also suggest trying out Isle of Raasay, 17 kilometres to the east, for Raasay House Activities Centre and Somerled Square.
