Great hotel. Bed and shower were excellent. Needed air conditioning for a perfect stay. It was very warm in the room. The fan we were given helped but still made it an uncomfortable night. Staff were friendly and helpful

This hotel really shouldn’t be open while the refurbishment is going on. Would be good if Expedia and Best Western stated at the time of booking the refurbishment was going on and it is disruptive. Booked 3 rooms in total for myself and 2 colleagues. Each of us had cold showers, we all for some reason had accessibility rooms. The walls are very thin and we could all hear the next door rooms very loudly. The refurbishment there was no dinning (with no restaurants nearby), not only that - the reception area / seating area was extremely dusty. Just generally a terrible experience, very unlikely to return.

No mention on booking that restaurant closed and bar closed, nor a £50 deposit in case of damage. Not what a 4 star hotel is. We feel totally let down and had to make alternative arrangements for our visit. Very disappointed with hotels.com and Best Western. Wasted our money.

The hotel was under refurbishment and the bar and restaurant were both closed. I was not informed of this until late on in the booking when rooms in alternative hotels were expensive. The quays area is quite unappealing and boy racers speeding up and down the road on a night is a distraction too

I stayed at the best western quays with my 11 year old son. We had a fab stay in one of the refurbished super king sized rooms. The service was excellent and friendly, the breakfast was plentiful and of an excellent range. The swimming pool was nice. We didn't use the gym but it looked incredible. The location was great, a ten minute walk to the centre through castle gate, a bit run down but very interesting. Some really minor negatives. The refurbishment in the hotel meant it wasn't clear which areas were off limits and we ended up using stairs we weren't supposed to. The pool was small meaning once a couple of people were swimming lengths we felt restricted. Overall a fabulous stay.

Recently renovated rooms are very good. Walk in showers etc. Breakfast room was good and service good. The bar was out of service when I was there as it is being upgraded. I didn't use the gym or pool but I noticed a lot of people visiting to use them so I guess they are very good too.

Lovely room

What let the hotel down was we had communicated the day before but when we arrived check in was slow and the bar and restaurant was shut!! The rooms are lovely and so clean and comfortable. Breakfast good value for money some pastries would be nice.
