Comfy Bed & Great Breakfast But Out of the Way

POSITIVES -Comfortable bed, great breakfast buffet (lots of Chinese and Western options), English speaking reception, and attentive staff. My housekeeper always made sure I had plenty of the complimentary bottled water. The Chinese acrobats theater is right across the street too. At first, I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights as part of a tour I had purchased. When the tour ended, I stayed in Shanghai another night. I was so pleased with the hotel that I booked the extra night in it. NEGATIVES -Wifi is NOT free and although the location around the hotel was nice (by a high-end designer mall), it was not close to any must-see sights and there was not any night life within walkable distance. A taxi was necessary to get to get anywhere. And unless you can afford Hermes, Cartier, Louis Vutton, and other expensive brands in the designer mall next door, you have to take a taxi to get to the more affordable shopping.

Good location

Enjoyed the stay, good staff and location is great for visiting Shanghai sites. The bathroom is looking pretty dated, and seems long overdue an upgrade. Room was clean but stains on carpet.

Hotel with wow factor

Excellent location, close to shops and restaurants. Very impressive reception and concierge was extremely helpful. The only down side was cost of wi-fi at £12 for 24 hrs. Maybe fine for business use but over the top for family use when just sending an email home. Overall though, an excellent experience.

We stayed hotel for 6 nights. The room is quite out dated and need refurbishing. Foods are super expensive but choices are quite limited. The location of the hotel makes up the food problem. As there are so many good restaurants outside the hotel all within walking distance. Has a nice gym and swimming pool.

Courteous staff easy check in. Dine in restaurant offers a variety of Asian and Western cuisine that is well prepared. Definitely worth a repeat visit

Great location but needs renovation

It is a good hotel with decent size rooms and great location. However the decor is old and the air conditioning is also out dated. I had to change the room to get a better cool room which the hotel did promptly. They still have wooden door frames, bathrooms doesn't have a shower room so you have to stand in the tub .. No complaints on quality of service or any other area. It's a famous brand name but a lot of new 4 star hotels are better equipped so the mgmt needs to act quickly..

Perfect Location

Absolutely perfect location, great hotel in general. Restaurant is very good, my only problem was ( and is common in most Chinese hotels) was the air conditioning. For some strange reason they do not work properly ( if at all) I have heard it is a government incentive thing to reduce power etc. don't really know but they (chinese in general) should understand we pay for 4 or 5 star srvice and expect the same!!!

Close to the flashy malls

The hotel was good value for money. Staff very helpful with sightseeing. Near to the 66 Mall and only 5 minutes walk from a very lovely temple. Shops nearby very expensive European designer shops. we walked all the way to the Bund from the hotel it took about 45 minutes. Hotel suggested it was too far but actually it was nice to see the shops. The hotel is new and modern and quite flashy with flat screen TV. One minus is that the bar is closed during daytime so nowhere to have a quiet meeting except in the lobby or the restaurant.

Back to Shanghai!

Great location, nice gym , price is right for a 5 star hotel. Still have issues with paying for Internet in hotels but most 4 star hotels and up will charge. Never understood that. Bottom line I have no complaints and will certainly stay here again.
