We stayed for 8 nights in a corner room (city views) on the 38th floor. The room had a funky layout including a bath with a view. The room felt very spacious with window seating and a small dining table. The quality sound system allowed us to stream audio from our phone, unfortunately the TV did not support streaming. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the functionality of an automated toilet. The hotel facilities were also very good. The breakfast has a vast buffet selection, although some of the traditional items (particularly the eggs) did not retain their heat very well. The gym is the best I have seen (and used) in any hotel I’ve stayed. The service was very attentive, we were able to check-in early (thank you!) and daily cleaning was always completed in the time that we were out each day. The outdoor bar overlooking Pudong City has great views of the city lights and even the tacos were yum! The North Bund area is a little quieter but the hotel is connected to a shopping mall with some good dining options as well as direct access to the metro. Would certainly stay again when next in Shanghai.

Best staff ever

I am having an absolutely exceptional stay at W Hotel. The service here is truly on another level. The team went above and beyond in every way – from helping me accept multiple deliveries and promptly sending them up to my room, to anticipating my needs before I even had to make a request. Their attention to detail and genuine care made my stay not only convenient but also incredibly memorable. It’s rare to experience such thoughtful and proactive service, and the staff at W Hotel exceeded all expectations. They made everything feel effortless, and I genuinely felt well taken care of throughout my stay. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for not just luxury, but also truly outstanding hospitality.

This is a concept hotel with Chinese 5*standards and also benefits an amazing top floor bund view if you select a river view with a higher floor. However the very lengthy check in time, poor management service, limited lifts for 42 floors of rooms. We also had to queue for our breakfast. (During our stay) Lobby constantly uncomfortably crowded and busy. Personally we think this is a Chinese 5* hotel rather than Marriott chain standard. Not recommended for families

Luxurious facilities and top notch service at a reasonable price. The view is breathtaking. The hotel is also located next to a high scale shopping mall with lots of delicious food choices. Make sure to add on the breakfast package as well, which is convenient and plentiful.

I went to the swimming pool and found a people smoking in the pool area. Actually, this people walked and smoked from the left of the pool to the right but no staff members stopped him. As he walked closer and closer to me with his cigarette, we asked help from a lifeguard in the pool. He invited the smoker to smoke in other pool areas (in fact, the pool area was non-smoking area). Afterwards, the smoker started harassing me by foul languages (including racism content) with threatening gestures around 2 meters away from me. I was scared and asked the lifeguard to assist but he ignored my request. The lifeguard waived his hands and asked me to leave in an impolite way. Then I approached another staff and asked to talk to his manager but no one came after nearly 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, no one came and I left the pool. A very bad experience. The hotel basically had no ability to protect hotel guests’ safety and enjoyment.

W Shanghai is our first stop of our winter vacation in China. Upon arrival at the hotel, everyone, everything, everywhere around the hotel was amazing. Here are some highlights: 1.Great service and staff members I’d like to send our thanks to Jay who upgraded our room upon our Check in. He also sent a warm message of greeting card along with a bottle of wine, sweets and fruit to our room. The porters were very helpful and efficient upon arrival and departure too. They had all our luggage delivered to our room right after we checked in. And called taxi and loaded our luggages as soon as we checked out. 2.Delicious and tasty Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day breakfast The dinner we reserved at YEN restaurant for Christmas Eve included 10 courses/dishes plus an unlimited special Tea. Each course was not only tasty, but also a great looking and was complied with Christmas theme. It should be rated Michelin certified Stars. 3.Comfortable amenities in the room The room not only has a stunning view on the Bund, but also equipped with 2 smart toilets, 3 different kinds of shower heads in a roomy walk-in shower room. Overall, our experience at W Shanghai was phenomenal. It’s definitely a great keepsake for us for many years. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for 5 stars hotel and beyond at Shanghai.
