Check in was frustrating. The check-in time says 4:00 but upon arrival, there was no room ready and we had to wait until close to 6:00pm for check in. It was frustrating after a long day of flying. We offered to take a down-graded room but was told they could not assist us as we booked through a third party, Expedia. They seem to forget that if it weren't for that third-party, Expedia, the room would never have been booked - others on site, who were also waiting, experienced the same. Were made to feel like our business did not matter as we did not book direct.

We arrived at 430pm and was told our room should be ready in an hour. Went to grab some food came back at 830pm and room still was not ready. After another 1/2 hour they gave me a room with 2 beds looking at a building when I had booked a deluxe King Bayview. I was paying $500 per night for this room. They finally gave me a $50 per night discount which was ridiculous. Get to room had not been properly cleaned. When asked for bar of soap at first told they were out, but finally found me one. We had stayed at your property in September and it was a totally different experience with staff, room and every aspect, so I recommended this hotel to the couple traveling with us and then we had this terrible experience. I am also Vice President for National Travel and have recommended your porperty to many clients which I no longer will be doing. I was told you had a change of management recently which I am assuming is responsible for the decline.

Nice stay, excellent location but service is lacking. Perfect location on the waterfront near Old San Juan-close to restaurants, bars and shops-especially good if you are taking a cruise. Breakfast and bar were enjoyable with gracious staff and good selection. Room was clean and comfortable but we had to ask numerous times for shower gel and shampoo, because the wall-mounted bottles in the shower stall were empty. Twice staff brought a bag full of everything BUT shower gel and shampoo. FINALLY on the third day they got it right. Worst part of stay was ordering a taxi the night prior to departure for 5:30 am and it never showed up. At 5:30 am we asked young man outside to check if it was on the way. He seemed unconcerned and said the woman who ordered it the night prior had not conveyed the information. He was more concerned with his cell phone and said he had asked another taxi driver who'd just left to return and pick us up after he dropped off the guests who left just before us. I explained that was 20 min. to the airport with the current passengers, 20 min. back to the hotel, and another 20 min. back to the airport, making us an HOUR late. He didn't seem to see the problem. We managed to find another taxi driver but were extremely anxious about making our 8:30 am flight. Overall, we did not feel that the high price of the rooms ($500-600/night) were reflected in the service provided.

I was very disappointed when I got there. The customer service was awful. Our room was not ready and no one really cared much and we had several little kids. I didn’t think the staff was very understanding. Also was promised to be compensated for all the problems and nothing happened. I expected better out of a Marriott. Very disappointed in the hotel.

Our room was not ready until three hours after check-in. We were told we would be comped breakfast the next day and they said no and sent our children back. Wasted a night because we couldn’t shower because room was not ready. Staff was unfriendly and rooms were dirty. I do not recommend this hotel and would never stay there ever again.
