Staff unwelcoming. AC wasn’t working correctly, so our room was extremely humid and hot. Required a fan, which was barely enough because it wasn’t a tower fan. Location is also inconvenient. Would not recommend. Terrible.

I wish I could give this property ZERO stars! This is an absolute scam of a property!!! From the moment we checked in, we had nothing but the issues. The first room was in-operational down to the room safe. We were moved to a different room that had operational items but was HORRIBLE in cleanliness. We were too tired on the first night to notice that but when we woke-up, we noticed fluid stains on the beds and comforters we slept in. It is anyone's guess what those fluids were. There was mold on roof and the walls. We were assured in the morning that everything will be taken care of by the time we return from our daily activities and we will be moved to a cleaner and safer room. We came back that evening after dinner to find multiple guests fighting and yelling with the staff on the same issues. The staff at concierge were doing their best to manage the situation but were limited by the "management" in what they could do. The 'management' was no where to be seen. Long story short, the clerk at front desk promised us to give us a full refund (we have a hand written note from him) but the management refused and charged us for two nights (one we spent, and one we didn't). Expedia customer service couldn't help us either as the 'management' wouldn't honor their own hand written promise! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Salzburg - Holiday game changer

Salzburg is an amazing small city with lots to do. Definitely get a Salzburg card and all visitors get free public transport in SalzburgerLand for the duration of their stay. Weather permitting, go to the Untersberg and Zwölferhorn mountains (use the chairlift and funiculars). Boat trip from Sankt Gilgen to Sankt Wolfgang on the Wolfgangsee. Check out the Landestheater for reasonable priced tickets for plays etc. Great beer gardens - check Salzburg city website for lots of ideas.

Great hotel but beware of the garage parking

Very comfortable hotel, friendly helpful staff , excellent breakfast, good location near bus stop. Parking was difficult. No outdoor spaces were free , so we had to pay extra for the priviledge of using the garage . The narrow exit and acute angle of the ramp made it very difficult to exit . If you have a slightky bigger than usual car ( we have a Mercedes ) i would advise against using the garage

Lovely visit to Salzburg

We had a wonderful time in Salzburg. The Holiday Inn was very central & walkable to anything we wanted to do.
Austrian Alps are delightful

Hotel was clean and close to transportation (Number 2 bus) that took you to main tourist area of Salzberg called Mirabell Schloss. Aldstadt was a short walk from Mirabell Schloss. Hotel was old and not completely updated. Temperature in the room was cold and you could tell that the rooms were old. However, it was clean and the staff was helpful. We did not try the food in the hotel and there are no other restaurants nearby that I noticed. So, if you want to be very near to the Aldstadt, this hotel is not for you, but probably a lot less expensive. Nevertheless, can get there easily by bus (and can also get to the Salzburg main train station to go other places).

We didn't receive a friendly welcome from the Staff lady, who said she didn't have any booking under our name. Another lady had to come and look for it until she found it. In February it's still winter, so the hotel has central heating and it's not possible to regulate the temperature in the room. Ours was extremely HOT. We had to open the windows and sleep with the noise from the street. Rooms are not cleaned, unless you ask for it. Front Desk was always busy and the ladies who clean didn't do it even when we asked them personally. The only fairly good about this hotel is the breakfast.
