Hotels in Sakitsu
If you're on your way to Sakitsu, bear this in mind — hotel options in the vicinity are as sparse as the hair on your great uncle Barry's head!
But there's no need to work yourself into a tizzy. Minamishimabara is around 45 kilometres away and offers some impressive accommodations, such as the Unzen Kanko Hotel and Yuyado Unzen Shinyu Hotel.
Omura is another place where you can sit back and order up some room service like a boss. Located 70 kilometres north of Sakitsu, it's where you'll find the Former Entsuji Temple Garden and Urami Waterfall Shizenkaen. If you're keen to visit Omura, consider the rates at the Chisun Inn Nagasaki Airport and Nagasaki International Hotel. Or, you could stay in Kumamoto, 85 kilometres to the northeast of Sakitsu, where you can choose from the Hotel Nikko Kumamoto and Dormy Inn Kumamoto Natural Hot Spring. If you're staying in Kumamoto, set aside some time to check out Yokoi Kogusu Memorial Hall and Musashizuka Park.
Get a ride 50 kilometres northwest and you'll come across Nagasaki, a regional centre with a population of 410,000. While you're in this neck of the woods, you'll be able to get your tourist on at Inasayama Park, Mount Inasa and Kaminoshima Church. If you've got some time up your sleeve, continue on and check out the vibe at Magome Catholic Church and Gunkanjima. Nagasaki offers places to stay to suit most budgets and tastes, including the Hotel New Nagasaki and Hotel Jal City Nagasaki.
Are you flying into Sakitsu? Then you'll want to know that the closest airport is Kagoshima Airport. It's only 85 kilometres from the town centre. If you're looking for a place to stay nearby, you can't go past the Yakakutei.
