Easy and free parking. Minimal staff. Decent size room. Had to haul suitcases upstairs then down a few again to get to the room. Good restaurant but understaffed.
This was an overnight stay on our way south. It is easy to get to from the motorway. Our room was at the back and was quiet. The bed was big and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. Paint Aubrey is a small village on the main road from Avalon to Vezaley. Overall I thought it was good value and would return if we were in the area.
Pleasant staff who could understand our basic French but helped out with English if needed!
Room good although ones at the front are on the main road. Good double glazing to stop the road noise but means you can't really have the window open so room with a family 4 in was a bit too hot overnight.
Breakfast good. Didn't have dinner as most of our family are vegetarian or eat fish and menu was mainly meat.
Overall a good place to stay as a break from travelling on the A6
We stayed overnight on our way back from skiing and it is very convenient as its 10 min from A6 and 10 min from the beautiful medieval town of Vézelay.
Room was good enough for us, although it had a persistent smell and had to leave window open quite a bit to get the smell out. Breakfast was good enough too, but no vegetables offerred for instance and to pay 36 EUR for 2 adults and 2 children with a fairly limited choice is on the steep side. But there is no other option around if you want to ear something in the morning. The homemade yoghurt was delicious.
All in all a good overnight choice. Probably would stay again
Small room but everything else about hotel wonderful. Comfy bed and great shower. Breakfast was soft boiled eggs, yogurt, croissants and homemade confitures. Would stay again!
Quiet hotel. Very comfy and in the country in Burgundy, France. Hotel has restaurant--dinner is excellent and very good breakfast in the morning. Plenty of parking across the street in the hotel parking lot.
This is a pleasant small hotel with easy road access to Avallon and Vezelay. It is worth noting that both Pontaubert and Avallon are closed on Sunday and Monday, the hotel restaurant was closed on Sunday, but served a good meal on the Monday. They are hapy to book you in for a meal at the other hotel in the village for Sunday evening. Be aware that the rooms are on the small side - fine as long as you do not have two huge suitcases, as we did.
We stayed here for one night on our way to Switzerland. It was a cozy stay with good service, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. We arrived several hours prior to check-in, but the man there got us our room and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was very small, but it was nice.
I chose the hotel for the location near Auxerre as an overnight stop on the way to Paris. For the price of the room the value was very good. The village is absolutely picturesque and I intend to go back for a longer break.
We only stayed here for one night to break our journey to the south of France. Our stay was a very pleasurable one, the food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was sufficient. The room was very comfortable and clean and the bathroom facilities were good. The couple that run it are very friendly. Overall a pleasurable stay.
enjoyed the short stay -- Hotel staff was excellent-- local area is quaint and peacful -- food was the best we had in France after just spending 4 nights in Paris, this was better prepared, presentation was good, price was good, and the breakfast the next morning was also a treat!! top recommendation from all 3 of us. Looks small from outset & with only 2 stars didn't expect too much however this hotel delivers, was very comfortable & the staff very friendly and helpful.
Very friendly hotel with excellent food, we did not try their Sauna. Would reccomend, ony drawback is it is next to a main road which seems to be busy mainly early mornings and late afternoon- Top rating for this
