We visited for a wedding in the adjoining Le petite chateau and had a wonderful day. All of the staff were polite, helpful and service was excellent. The wedding food and the breakfast were both delicious. Our room was a good size with a lovely walk in rainfall shower. My only slight disappointment was that the room was very dark despite 2 windows because they both faced onto a wall. It didn’t really matter to us because we literally only slept in it but I’d be unhappy if we were staying a few nights. Definitely recommend.

Great pub offering a very comfortable and attractively furnished room. The staff were really friendly and we enjoyed our evening meal (good menu) and great breakfast. Fantastic value for money.

I mean, Northumberland is a beautiful place, and this property was no less beautiful. It is the most eco-conscious hotel we've ever stayed in, with it's own garden, solar panels. and I believe a rain catcher? There's so much wildlife in the area, bird feeders and cats roaming around. We got lucky and there was a bit of clear sky our second night, so we headed to the observatory and got to spots some stars since it's in a Dark Sky Park. It was also a great distance to all the sights in the area, particularly Hadrian's Wall and the Roman Forts. Breakfast was fantastic, staff was friendly, food and drink were great. An overalls really fantastic stay.

Sensational listed hotel. Beautiful building in a wonderful setting. Dining room was great with good value meals.

Hosts were lovely and friendly nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very plentiful and hot and lot of choices too Hotel was lovely and warm would stay there again

What a fabulous historic property to stay in, we all thought it was wonderful. My only, very small gripe was the wooden flooring throughout was creaky but this in no way detracts from the great stay we enjoyed.
