Very comfortable bed. I was given an upgrade from a single to a double room. Very friendly and helpful staff. I have stayed here a number of times and I have never been disappointed. Easy parking, which is always helpful.

The Royal was a terrific find for us. The owners were delightful and the hotel their pride and joy. Breakfast is delicious and included and the room, and bed were very comfortable. The shower is good also.

Simple check in as I had paid in advance. The key was already in the door so I was just welcomed and then directed.

A joy to stay with Elena and her team. A cosy property with more of a guest house vibe than a full-service hotel experience - but all the more enjoyable for that. The castle has a great gastro-pub just a 3-minute walk away in the village. Lovely cooked breakfast in the hotel, Ideal for a short stopover or to explore the area. Perfectly quiet and easily accessible by car or taxi from Newcastle airport. If you want to escape the formality of modern travel and. slow down a bit... Otterburn Castle.

Stayed over for a night whilst travelling back from a trip to Scotland. A great B & B which I can’t recommend highly enough. From meeting Susan on arrival where she showed off our room. Whilst cosy, everything was pristine! A comfy bed and great breakfast the next morning topped off a great stay. Not forgetting the pub attached……where we had our evening meal and probably the best Beef and Ale pie we’ve ever had with great personal service too. We’d highly recommend the Rose & Thistle and look forwards to staying again when next in the area.
