It sits among the stunning forests, mountains and alpine meadows of Norrbotten County. (You'll have to veer off the tourist trail a little, but that's what travelling is all about!)

It sits 930 kilometres to the north of Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden.

Break out on a trip to some nearby natural sights. 50 kilometres out of Ritsem, Padjelanta National Park is all yours to discover. Stora Sjofallet National Park, 45 kilometres away, is another pleasant place to immerse yourself in nature.

Whether you're trying to smooth your turns or just get to the bottom in one piece, Norrbotten County has the slopes for you. Make you way to either Fagernesfjellet or Bjorkliden Fjallby Ski Resort.

Tysfjord is 55 kilometres to the northwest and worth a day trip. Want some more ideas? Saltoluokta, 60 kilometres to the southeast of Ritsem, should be your next stop.
