Stearns Park Beach and Traverse City Beach are your best bets if you're interested in somewhere to enjoy a relaxing stroll along the shore.

We all know that getting outside is good for you. With that in mind, why wouldn't you journey 40 kilometres out of Reed City to Newaygo State Park? White Pine Trail State Park, 17 kilometres away, is another excellent option.

Leave a trail of white powder in your wake as you whiz down the slopes at Cannonsburg Ski Area. Powder hounds will also want to load up the car and head to Crystal Mountain.

There's even more just around the corner. Big Rapids, 19 kilometres to the south, is popular for the Ferris State University and the Katke Golf Course. Alternatively, if the Luther Area Museum and Millpond Park are more your thing, go 25 kilometres northwest from Reed City to Luther.

An excellent way to discover the wider region is to partake in an outdoor adventure. Tobogganing is one of the most popular activities around here. But if that doesn't quite take your fancy, there's always snowmobiling.
