The property was great and the owners were amazing. They had great and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again! Thank you again for one of our best stays ever.
I just feel it needs to be stressed that the business is at 2 locations, and it is not necessarily an easy walk or drive for that matter to get from 1 to the other. There is also no elevator to reach the 2nd floor at the "Hotel". Otherwise a great stay in a very clean, slightly dated room. I would stay again (But ask to be on the 1st floor).
We stayed in cabin 25. the cabin was great, clean, quite. Our only complaint was the living couch and chair, the were low to the ground and very uncomfortabel and there is no end tabel to set your drink on or lamp. It was all all lights or nothing. it is a easy upgrade that I hope the owners consider.

A descent stay.
Our stay here was decent. Our expectations prior to arriving were on the higher end due to the photos and written explanations of what we would be experiencing. We stayed at the lodge and were expecting to be a nonsmoking atmosphere, at our check in day, pulling up to our room there was someone smoking outside the door and smoke/smell was in our room. This was a reoccurring event with the same person and other guests that arrived. We also weren’t thrilled about not being able to put a sign up for housekeeping to not enter our room. The host says there is a light continental breakfast; however, it was much slimmer than what you would get at a hotel. This was one of our top reasons for staying here. Unfortunately we didn’t return for breakfast. Aside from these downfalls the people were friendly and the location was very convenient to Rapid City and short driving distance to many attractions such as Mt. Rushmore.

A little run down
Good staff. Furniture was beat up. Coffee maker dangerous, I should have thrown it out. TV from the ice age and couch to watch it out of place. Bathroom was the best thing about the room. You can hear everyone in other rooms. We stayed across the street and you have to cross a highway to get to driveway to rooms. Dangerous. Too dark to find at night.
My father and I stayed in a couple of the lodge rooms for a few days while site-seeing around Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorials. I loved the comfy/cozy vibe, as this location is away from the standard "Hotel Row". The beds were a little hard and the desk chair was great for a quick e-mail check - but not for an extended "workcation" type stay. This was perfect for us, since my dad is retired, and I was avoiding my computer :) The neighborhood restaurant was also wonderful, so after a day of sight-seeing, we could take a rest, then go get a good meal without having to drive into the city.
What a perfect place to stay. The managers worked to help me with a coffee table so I could set up my computer. The room was large, clean, and the kitchen was just great to fix meals. Anytime I had a question and need that took care of it. 100% satisfied- 7 day stay. Good location to get all around the Black Hills, Custer State Park, and the caves.

Good Location
It was a central location to all my South Dakota stops (Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Wind Cave National Park and RAP airport). It can use some updating (sound proofing in the walls and new mattresses/pillows), but the staff was friendly.

Check in was smooth and room was clean with two queen bed. We were three adults, it was just nice. We stayed one night on our way to Seattle. It is a cheap and nice place for overnight stay.
