Well I didn’t appreciate the hotel management charging for full three nights even before I check in. This was my worst lodging ever. I was so shocked when I check into the property after climbing four floors carrying my luggages. There were water leaks from the portable a/c unit and the floor was wet all around the dining area. Also the cleaning crew left a bucket, mop and dirty towel on floor. The a/c unit was put casually in the kitchen and the pipe was not even sealed properly leaking the hot air back into the room. I paid for a suite but couldn’t use the kitchen due to heat and the portable unit sitting on a chair. There was a heatwave and I couldn’t sleep the first night at all. The room was not ready for guests and shouldn’t have put on poor tourists. I expected old hotel but didn’t think the unit was broken(bathroom tile, towels with holes, broken bedside table) and dirty with a moldy shower stall. I feel the management is wrong for not doing repairs needed. I’m a very unhappy client who feel lied about a property and very disappointed with Expedia listing this property.

It was fine

Basically, this is a “hotel” run remotely. There essentially no staff onsite so it’s more like an Airbnb experience than a hotel. This is all fine if the price is much less than others in the area but if it’s not, I’d recommend elsewhere. For the pros: location was great (but many other hotels there, too so you have other options). It was quite clean and fairly comfortable. Our room #7 was incredibly quiet and we did not experience any street or inside noise. Although no parking, there is a nice reasonably priced parking garage easily walkable. For the cons: digital keys did not work at one point which was very frustrating but they answered the phone and helped us fairly quickly. Furniture was terrible, many broken yard sale type items that were annoying. Wobbly lamps, broken arm chairs. Bedding wasn’t comfortable but that maybe just be personal preference. One window had light blocking curtains (much needed on east facing window), but the other window were scraps/strips of torn fabric so hope you like waking early (in the summer at least!). All and all it was “fine” but I wouldn’t stay there again unless it’s much less expensive than surrounding options.

The location is perfect. Lots of restaurants and sites to see within walking distance. The room was small but cozy. Everything in the building is quite worn down. The narrow staircase with heavy luggage is quite the adventure. The front desk person is part time so you need to call or text for assistance. We arrive a couple hours before check-in and were told we had to pay extra if we wanted on the room.

Full of character and charm, in the heart of old Quebec City, associated with a wonderful restaurant. friendly and helpful staff. Definitely not for those with mobility issues due to the steep stairs and no elevator, amenities are a bit tired, can be noisy at night. Overall we loved our stay.

We liked the restaurant, the location & the staff. Our room was spacious & comfortable. We stayed 3 nights & no one came to make up the room etc. on the second day. Our concern was the carpet which had a couple of large stains, maybe from pets? It definitely needs a good cleaning.

Only things this place has going for it are cute rooms and location. There was only one staff and she was there part time. Be aware that it is a walkup with no bellhops. The staff from the restaurant in front of the hotel were helpful. Seniors should avoid.

Nous avons aime notre chambre, mais le blocage dans un des escaliers nous a rendu le montage plus difficile qu’on avait prevu. Apres ayant ecrit cela, le service etait vraiment merveilleuse. Si nous retournerions a Quebec au futur, nous voudrions faire une autre reservation a cet auberge.

The air conditioning didn’t work in the room, towels had holes in them, toilet was constantly running because air conditioning wasn’t working we used the fan we saw in the corner of the room. Our digital room key didn’t work and after about 10 tries the girl from the front desk gave up and gave us the master digital key fob. Also, there was no one at the front desk most of the day so any requests, service, towels etc could not be obtained. If you arrived early the restaurant next door said to leave bags behind front desk. But there was just no assistance. We also did not have shampoo and without a front desk person we couldn’t get any.

The location was great, close to the boardwalk, Le Fontenac tourist information office, with lots of restaurants nearby. The cafe in front of the hotel, La Buchette, had a wonderful happy hour and breakfast. The room was charming but it needs a refresh. The furniture and bathroom were looking tired and worn.

Great stay! LOTS of stairs (4 levels) however it was not a surprise as it was stating that they did not have an elevator! So I do not recommend for people having a hard time with that. But nice place around lots of fun stuff.

Property is in a great location and room was decent, except we had an issue with no AC and with the bathroom. No personnel on site and no answer when calling or response to our email to management for help. Advised to park at a parking garage that construction had closed down. No housekeeping came during our 2 night stay. If we did not have the issues we had with the room it may not have mattered so much but the situations required staffing to be present and they were unreachable. Disappointing
