I wish someone would have been truthful about this property. It was a true disappointment for our first visit to Quebec. The room was shoddy with a standing air conditioner duct taped to a hole in the window. Constant fluid drained from the unit into the old carpeting. I asked the online service person (on no works on site at all) if they were aware of this problem and she replied someone would empty the drainage bucket. No one dried or cleaned the carpet. My husband now has a raspy cough from breathing the air in the bedroom. They advertised it as a junior suite and for the price it really didn’t come up to the lowest standards for a place to spend the night. It was located well and the restaurant below it was good and had very nice staff who helped us carry our luggage up two sets of stairs. There is no parking and you have to find your own then navigate to the hotel dragging your suitcases over cobblestones in heavy tourist areas. A definite “never again”.

The location was great and the staff was quick to help us change hotels . The hotel itself I wouldn’t pay 100.00 Per night for never mind 1500.00 for our 3 days . The room smelled , the pull out bed was directly under a tv and it was broken . You couldn’t sit on the bed never mind sleep . There was no lock to the door which led to the rooftop and all they kept saying was don’t worry no om could get it . Not safe for my kids who were with us . Horrible place . The Boucher restaurant was good . We were given a voucher . Thankfully they helped accommodate another hotel As no way we would have stayed

The only thing it really offers is location. Booked a king bed and got a queen. There was a non-functional ceiling fan with crusts of dust on the blades. There were long strands of hair in the bed, both my wife ans I have short hair. The ceiling had some indication of water damage that was not repaired. If you like to sleep in the dark forget about it, the curtains let in so much street light at night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent location. Completely unstaffed, with receptionist only available via phone call: difficult if problems. Room up three flights of stairs with no lift! Free standing AC unit in room 4, vented via window: impossible to draw curtains or shut window properly, noisy. Room serviced only on alternate days! I remonstrated and this was done daily for us for which I am grateful. Enjoyed the stay in Quebec very much, but would find another hotel next time.

Can't beat the location! The room was very cute, comfortable sleeping and above all, quiet! It was a little confusing checking in because the hotel does not have check-in staff on-site, but a quick phone call cleared up most of our questions and we eventually settled in. When we arrived we were assigned a room on the top floor of a four story walk up with luggage (not in the room we had originally been assigned on the first floor which would have been more convenient!) That said, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan to return in December!

I'll say right off the bat if you are overweight, elderly, unfit or need assistance I would not consider this property. There is no elevator and you have to hand carry your luggage up steep narrow steps. There is no check in desk. All communication is by text and by a house phone. but they are good at answering the house phone in a timely way. When you get there you have to go through a restaurant to find the inn portion, and the restaurant workers are not interested in helping you. Also, when they say check in time is not until 4PM, they mean it. Since the building is very old, there is some functional obsolescence to some of the rooms. In our room (#12), you had to be able to fit through a space less than 12" wide to reach the toilet. Also, our rooms view was the radiator to the building pretty much. No view. On the plus side, You cannot beat the location. It is in the middle of all the nightlife so that's pretty cool. The room was quiet, spacious and the bed was comfortable. The in-room coffee dispensor was delicious. Also lots of restaurants within a block for meals. All that said, unless you are a tolerant traveler used to international travel, I would stick with a Marriott which has minimum standards.

The location is excellent and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and tourist sights. The digital key did not work and the replacement wi fi key also intermittently did not work. I had a superior room which was a little cramped and had a portable air conditioner installed that day . It worked well but was noisy. If location is your key requirement then this place was ideal but it was relatively basic. Staff did help very promptly when I phoned them with the key difficulties and with turning off the built in air conditioner which was exceptionally noisy but did not work.

I would definitely recommend staying at the Auberge Place d'Armes. Great location. Near restaurants & shopping. Room was perfect for two. Any questions i had were answered quickly by the staff. Restaurant next door was also a definite 10. I would absolutely return on my next visit to Quebec.

The check-in was all digital so I didn't deal with staff or service, but the place was wonderful, just steps from restaurants (in fact, you enter kind of through one), the Chateau Frontenac, the Funicular and steps up to the Plains of Abraham. It was beautiful, quiet, roomy and comfortable. A real treat! I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Very nice location, well priced, renovation without compromising legacy and original style. Senior guests should be aware of stairs and no lift. I am 60+ but had no problem staying in third floor (attic roo).
