Honest review of Secrets. The property, pool areas, staff and food are excellent. They really make it feel special. The major down fall for us was the lack of beach activities, nightly entertainment, and the pressure to upsell you upon check in. The staff funnels you into raffle opportunities, but it’s just a gimmick/guilt trip to get you buy stuff. Speaking of buying stuff, the resort charged us $26usd and $34usd for two bottles of sunblock. Also, the casino staff was super unfriendly and they tried to pay me half of what was owed. Beware. Lastly, the beach area was beautiful except the guys standing just off the beach waiting to bother hotel patrons with bird photos and excursions.

Stayed in the ocean view king bed suite - at first unsure about being on the first floor, as there was no ocean view. HOWEVER, the convenience of being able to walk 10 feet to the preferred (quieter/better drinks) pool area was awesome. Our concierge “Super D” was fantastic. We ate all all the restaurants (Mexican and Steakhouse twice) and enjoyed the casino and Spa. The BUFFET may have been the highlight of all dining options. Clean, fresh, good service. We regret not visiting the buffet before the third of seven nights. Very clean, very safe. Sat through the timeshare presentation for 200 dollars off at the spa. We want to visit more Secrets resorts but we will probably end up coming back here! 9/10 Would recommend.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming! The whole facility was clean and very nice. This was our first trip out of the country and we were so glad we chose Secret Royal Beach Punta Cana. 3 individuals truly showed compassion for their jobs and were very attentive and always greeted us with a smile and made sure we were happy and had fun! Christopher, Junior and Flower!! They were all very friendly and we hope to see them there on our next visit! Recommend 10/10! Thank you especially Christopher, Junior and Flower!

This resort was absolutely beautiful!! The food was amazing, the spa was so relaxing and the staff was very friendly. We had a preferred club room and its the only way to go. Our concierge Irving was absolutely amazing!! He went above and beyond for us. The day we checked out, we accidentally left a wallet in the room. Irving took a cab to the airport to get the wallet back to us. He was a lifesaver!!! We are already planning a return trip!!!

Overall, the quality of the food was underwhelming. With a few exceptions, most meals across the resort’s restaurants were bland.The resort emphasized quantity over quality. For example, the same red sauce was used across multiple dishes—from pasta and meatballs to nachos—leaving everything tasting equally flavorless and overly salty. In this case, less would have definitely been more. I would have much preferred a small glass of real juice over a large mug of watered-down concentrate. On a positive note, the eggs were excellent—fresh and well prepared.The “Bali” cabanas featured in the promotional photos are located at the so-called “quiet pool,” which comes with an added charge of $50 per day. Unfortunately, the quiet pool is anything but quiet for large parts of the day. It’s located too close to the party pool, where loud music plays on a loop, often repeating the same songs.Another issue was the flooring. The resort is covered with stone tiles and slabs—what appears to be travertine—which might look upscale, but proved to be dangerously slippery. Over just a few days, I slipped at least 15 times, and that’s without having consumed any alcohol. Warning signs were posted, but it still felt unusually hazardous. I worry about guests who may not be as steady on their feet.Noise was also a problem at night. The stone-tiled hallways amplified every sound, especially as staff pushed service carts around at all hours.To top it off, the jacuzzi jets had visible mold.

Excellent hotel with fantastic rooms, food and facilities including pool and beach. You can also use the neighbouring Dreams facilities which makes it a 2-in-1 resort. Would fully recommend.

The entire property was beautiful and always well maintained! Staff was amazing- especially Melvin for always having the best attitude at the swim up bar. Definitely recommend!!

The property is beautiful, bit as soon as you get there they attempt to upgrade your room for a ridiculous amount of money. Then they want you to attend a 90 min membership sales pitch, and when you say No their entire attitude changes toward you. No attention to detail at the restaurants. My wife has food allergies and multiple times they didnt pay attention to the card they gave us.
