This property is perfect for someone that has a disability & difficulty walking any distances.Rooms,though dated, were spotless & had the largest, comfortable bed we have ever seen & the Longest pillows ever!The Beach literally had NO waves in the 11 days we were there, very calm.The Adults Only pool was never crowded.The Food was quite good & had many options.The A La Carte Restaurants were all unique & had great food.Staff were attentive & always around.Entertainment (bands) was from 10-11pm & was good.The Palace next door was huge,busy & had many restaurants.We will definately Return to Barcelo Bavaro Adults Only!~~~

Our stay was wonderful, only thing lacking was getting towels and drinking water in our room. We had to ask housekeeping several times.They would clean the room, take the towels and not replace. Other then that it was excellent, staff was friendly, and helpful. Make sure you book your reservations for dinner in advance or as soon as you get there.

Spent a 5 night stay at Barcelo Bavaro Beach Adults Only resort. It is attached to the larger Barcelo Palace and the amenities were easy to access and very walkable within 6-7 mins total. Pool areas and the beach were excellent. Workout facilities and the spa are high end as well. Dining was very good. Buffets were plentiful and had good variety. A la carte restaurants were very good - favourites were the Japanese and Italian. Only real negative was the large number of very young adult spring breakers who partied like they were the only people on the resort at times.. that was disappointing. Overall, a very good stay with minor issues. It would be nice if more servers and people working in guest services would speak better English - communication gaps did exist unfortunately.

Coordination between the transportation company and the hotel needs a bit improvement. Overall I will go again. To me everything was good from the hotel room to the food. The dinner reservations were easy to do.

Room changed twice after initially putting us in a DBL/DBL bedded room on the ground floor and a 2nd ground floor king bedded room with a horrible smell and rain water coming under the entry door during a morning rain. The vents are caked with dust. Signs of mildew in the bathroom. Room 4001.The whicker furniture looks cheap/tacky. The bathrooms and insert tubs/showers are also horrible. That makeshift half-plexiglass mounted in the shower is laughable. Water everywhere - the walls, shower floors, toilet, ceiling, pouring out to the vanity area. Poorly cleaned with tarnished chrome. No wash cloths. Shaking my head at that bathroom. toilet needed 3 flushes. No luxury in the room at all. Just a bed and air conditioning. Your associates rarely look at you and almost never speak. No smiles or conversations with exception of a few of the all day restaurant staff. Not the best of stays.

My wife and I enjoyed the resort. The facilities need certain upgrades, especially in the rooms. The service was excellent. Everyone is very courteous and helpful. The only thing we were not thrilled is the food. Food is very bland, hardly any flavor. I think one of the choices on the buffet and upscale restaurants should be true local Dominican cuisine.

The hotel had a very calm atmosphere. The pool is big and the ocean area is beautiful. The other resort wasn't too far of a walk. It was bothersome that the "adults only" hotel didn't have very many options. One pool, no swim up bar, only a couple of food options, nowhere to get snacks through out the day. The casino and sprts bar were on the family friendly side. The only bar in the adult side closed at midnight. The rooms are outdated. The staff didn't seem as accommodating as I've received at other places.
