Loved Bahia Esmerelda!!! Property was clean. Staff was so nice. Shout to to Kelvin and Orlando at the beach bar! Food was ok. Reservations for restaurants were booked up. I’d recommend trying to get them early. We had dinner on some of the other properties, but Esmerelda was definitely the better option due to being on the beach (less mosquitoes). We did parasailing and snorkeling and honestly they were really well priced! Will definitely be returning.

After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit hesitant on booking this property. But I don’t know what all the complaining was about, because this property is a 10 . The rooms were spacious and absolutely stunning. The ocean and the beach was a 1 min walk from our room, the buffet and the food selection was very tasty and well prepared. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable. I would highly highly recommend staying at the Esmeralda Bahia Principe.

Loved the Bahia Esmeralda! The swim up room was a hit with the kids. Tons of dining options through the Bahia resort area, make reservations in advance through the app. Steps to the beach! I found there were plenty of chairs and seating areas. Our favorite spot was the Atabey beach bar, Kelvin was an amazing bartender.

we’ve enjoyed so much food is great I highly recommend Naan Indian cuisine restaurant and Urtha it’s Mongolian absolutely incredible tasty! And property is very close to the beach. Also we had a few little problems in room the staff fixed so quickly. If you have kids and wants to go sleep early ask room away from pool and main lobby-it’s super noisy with evening entertainment. Overall room is awesome food in buffet and restaurant is excellent (I saw someone says they ate all the same but you have to make a reservation for restaurant, if it’s all book-my advice: go there early most likely they will give you table)

Not sure of the negative reviews. We had a fabulous time and the staff tried their best to look after our needs. There was no Expedia VIP benefit...so Expedia status was worthless. But Francia at the front desk, Francisco (manager) and Julio (sommelier) at the restaurants, Luis and Yirandy at the front desk were amazing. Wonderful choices for food...keeping in mind that it is a third world country - you aren't getting sushi like your favorite sushi restaurant in America, but lots of great choices overall. Beaches were beautiful, water amazing and overall a grand place to stay. At least a 9.3 or 9.4 level rating.

Communicate with english is good enough at the resort. But people need to careful to go to restaurant or activity meeting and airport. Bell boys don't know detail. You need to confirm with front people or destination name to go. Also they were filming at the resort and it could be in your way. very crowded and hard to move and inconvenient. They are filming at the lobby when people do check-in or check-out. or they were filming when in front of breakfast restaurant and spa street. otherwise, inside of resort was wonderful. servers are good enough to me, pretty clean and perfect location (30 seconds to go beach or pool both) Food was good enough to me as well.

Bahia Principe Punta Cana needs to update their in-app map, Google map locations, and physical boards. Relying on these maps brought us to restricted areas on the opposite side of where the true location of the resturant was (Mikado Resturant for example) and the physical boards showed two sections of the resorts with the same yellow color with locations listed as numbers, but had duplicates of locations with only one title listed in the map index (two locations with same color and number, one location/resturant title). Staying at Esmeralda (renovated previously) our shower was not properly sealed, resulting in water getting into the main bathroom area, along with a strange musk smell upon returning to our room throughout the day. We would also find new mosquitos in our room everyday, despite our efforts to clear the room of them. We also never received a "Do Not Disturb" sign after requesting for one multiple times. The vacation was much needed, but would not return to a location with this many issues during our week of relaxation.
