Amazing property

This is one of the more unique properties my family has stayed on. It was right on the beach and extremely private. Snorkeling was amazing too. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners who were the kindest people I've met in Cancun. My family will most definitely be coming back to this property and it was only 15 minfrom a grocery store which we visited alot. 30 min from the airport.

5 Stars for outdoor experience, the condo a 2 Star

You will love this gem of the Mexican Riviera IF your priority is soaking up all the outdoor experience. The condo is in a tropical jungle with beautiful palm/coconut tree lined path to a private beach. It’s stunning. The outdoor pool is clean and well kept. There are hammocks near a flowing water fountain. The private chef cooking service is wonderful (he has a private outdoor kitchen). The on-site workers were responsive and helpful. (Ask for the kayak! Ask for fresh coconuts to drink!) The ocean view Palapa is wonderful for morning coffee, yoga, afternoon drinks and evening games. We saw iguana and so many birds and maybe even a monkey in our 8 days here. My real caution is the condition of the condo. I expected old and dated as previous reviews noted, but the kitchen and bathrooms are run down. I’m an outdoor camper and they still surprised me. The towels for bathing and pool are good. The fridges very clean. The washer/dryer upstairs very clean. The Wifi and TV worked well. The downstairs kitchen is so bad, though. There are pots/pans/dishes/silverware but without a dishwasher or tidy sink area It would be very difficult to manage meals for a group here.(I washed all things before I used them). There are NO pantry items so plan a grocery run for staples of coffee, coffee filters, sugar, salt, paper towels, counter spray cleaner, etc. Our group of 8 adults enjoyed our time here and there is so much space! But if you are hoping for luxury or resort style living you will want to look elsewhere. We enjoyed getting to know the owner and see his vision for the adjoining properties he owns. All the locals were pleasant. We used the Covid testing company they rec. and they were very professional. We rented a car and we’re so glad we did. A 10 min drive to Puerto Moreles allowed for a grocery run and site seeing. If you don’t do chef service, the restaurants here were very good (and some seat with ocean views).

I'd call it a value property

Everything was good, except that the cleaning crew doesn't actually scrub down the bathrooms and they also only use organic cleaning products so be prepared to see/feel left over residues in the shower, toilet, sinks, dishes, floor. I don't like to scrub either, so I spray bleach, let it sit and rinse, but they don't want the use of harsh products (which I get, but let's get some scrubbing action then). In a place that is a rental, hosting multiple people, this is crucial. Only its overlooked here. Other than that, the host was great. The location was good, very private and a great dining room to host nice family dinners. And the chef was AMAZING! Same with the yoga instructor!

Perfect little place

Our favorite part of this property was the outdoor area. The garden, pool area, and private beach in the backyard were all so gorgeous. The property was as described and everything worked properly. The on-site maintenance(?) man, Ismael was so wonderful and found/helped us with everything we needed if it wasn’t available in the house. The owner of the house was also very kind and helpful. We had 15 adults and there was more than enough space for everyone. The house could do with a few more kitchen gadgets/utensils and cookware but other than that everything was perfect. There was a washer and dryer in the unit as well which was a huge plus for our big group. I highly recommend using Sergio for your transportation/tours as well. Extremely friendly and helpful and made our experience much more personable and fun. Thank you all!

Great location, run down house

The location is amazing. There is a fantastic pool and a beautiful beach front. We hired the chef to make our meals and that was lovely (it would have been awful to try and cook in that house). We also hired the driver to pick us up from the airport and take us to see the ruins, a cenote and a monkey sanctuary. That was great for our large family of 11… Unfortunately, it was the worst house I’ve ever stayed in. I would only give it one or two stars. There are a lot of beds, bedrooms, and bathrooms, but all of them are rundown. The beds are hard, the pillows were uncomfortable (one pillow had blood spots on it), the showers did not all produce hot water, and there was no cleaning done the entire time we were there. We ended up booking this place because it was last minute and it was the only large property available. The staff was friendly and kind.

Gorgeous Grounds

The grounds were beautiful! The pool was perfect, the beach hut was fun with great views, private beach was always empty and super nice. The house itself is definitely dated but we were only in there to shower and sleep. Chef Ismael did a GREAT job! He was one of the highlights of the trip. Also, Sergio was great with tours and transportation. Always on time. Communicating with Daniel was quick and easy during the planning process. Only saw him the last day we were there. Overall, I'd recommend as long as you're aware that the house itself isn't the selling point.

Perfect Spot for Senior Trip

This property is gorgeous! We rented it for my daughter's senior trip. There was a total of 15 people. The villas comfortably accommodated us. The property manager was very responsive from the time we began planning our activities and throughout our entire trip. We enjoyed the privacy and security this property offers. Our favorite spots to hangout was around the pool and the loft area that overlooks the beach. While hanging out late one night, we saw a sea turtle make her way upon the beach to bury her eggs! The highlight of our trip was the chef service! I highly recommend the chef. Every meal was outstanding. The chef and server did a grocery run for us for the next day for water and snacks. We requested a special meal that wasn't apart of the standard menu and the chef graciously prepared it for us. The only downside were the bugs. However, that was understandable considering the ecological location. Just be sure to bring a good bug repellent. Overall, this property is as described, pictured and more!

Perfecto for big groups

We had a big group ages 65-8 months old and we all absolutely LOVED this house! Very spacious for a big family. Every room has its own bathroom and AC. Pool is heated, beach is beautiful, no huge waves… perfect for the little kids. We also hired the chef and we give him and his helpers five stars! The food is authentic Mexican food, so good! Also, the guys that take care of the property were so helpful to whatever we needed! I would definitely stay here again!!

This place is nothing like the pictures. It is old, pool is dirty, beach is rocky and dark. The villas itself are very basic, and need an upgrade and constant maintenance. Host is never available or around, basically was just nice while booking but when we checked in he disappeared. They advertise cleaning services but you won’t have anyone cleaning during your stay, this place is a fraud! Spend your money somewhere else. If you stay here you will not have a riviera maya experience at all. Very dissapointed, would NEVER recommend end to anyone. Even a bad hotel is better than this place. Stay away...

Very disappointed of this property. Ask for current pictures of the property, Pictures are nothing like the villas once you arrive. The pool in the pictures is not the pool you will have access to, there is no cleaning service as mentioned in the description and when we arrived pool was extremely dirty. We contacted the property manager(host) which never showed up to let him know the pool was not safe for our use and he sent someone to add chemicals to try to clean it but ended up worst. Water was greenish and dirty. This is not a house, so don’t expect the property on the photos. The property definitely needs maintenance as it is old. If you want a riviera cancun experience this is not the place for you. Beach is nothing like the pictures they advertise it is rocky and not the beautiful color you would expect on the location. As I mentioned the host was never around or available, I would not recommend this place. Expedia should restrict them as they advertise with false information and photos.

Family in paradise!

Our stay at the beautiful Secret Jewel property met our expectations. This jungle property is the perfect natural setting . The pool, was cleaned daily and just sparkled in both sunlight and moonlight. Then a short walk through the coconut palms led to the magnificent white sand beach and vivid blue ocean. (There was no sea grass). We were party of 14 plus three babies here to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. There are lots of quiet spaces to be alone or together as wished. This property is very private and safe. The residence is set back from the beach in the cool of the palm trees. The 6 bedrooms with bathrooms worked well for our group. The beds are comfortable only double size not queen. Linens provided are adequate. The kitchens have minimal cooking utensils and could do with a sharp knife , wine glasses would be a nice addition, and fresh tea towels daily. We had to ask. With three toddlers dropping food everywhere we were always asking to use a broom. David and Vanessa, the caretakers are very pleasant and accommodating but not always available. On two occasions we enjoyed Chef Ishmael’s delicious meals . Very good food, beautifully prepared and presented. We highly recommend using this service. Our family likes to cook but it was very difficult . This was a trip of a lifetime for our family. and we all have glorious memories of our time at Secret Jewel Beach. — swimming in the warm, clear ocean water, watching waves from the crow’s nest, taking a late night dip in the beautifully lit jungle pool., and telling stories while stargazing from the rooftop. Misleading advertising by Twin Villas

1. Stay away and don't believe the pictures. It is a very small, narrow, old, rusting property which is not well maintained. 2. Property advertisement is misleading with picture above is a location near a small pool and red roof shed is not part of the main building. real pictures of main building are not included in description. property description does not disclose that 3 BRs upstairs are accessible only from outside. 3. The inside of the building smells musty but not too bad. bathrooms are small and falling apart with old rusting pipes, faucets and knobs. No hot water available for first 2 days and caretaker did not care to check problems with small water heater, hardly good for 2 people not 20. shower head broken in at least one bath room. no floor mats or decent soap or shampoo conditioner, or lotion available. poor lighting at sink/mirror. no full length mirror on property. 4. kitchen was not equipped for 20 people. there were not enough cooking utensils or proper cutlery for 20 people. small ants everywhere in kichen and on counter. 5. Overall, a total disappointment with an overhyped property not properly careed for. I have actual pictures available of the conditions described. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY.

Amazing Mexico Villa

The staff was extremely professional, friendly and accommodating. We hired the recommended chef and Arturro for five days and they prepared amazing meals to give us the perfect Mexican vacation experience. They were very flexible with our schedule and needs for little kids. The location was easy to get to from the airport and close to fun attractions including cenotes and Playa del Carmen. The property was just the right amount of space for our four families to share -- the pool area and outdoor dining table in particular were amazing. We highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful private getaway

The setting is perfect and the on site staff & owner were very easy to work with. The house itself needs some upgrading, the downstairs smells very moldy. We had to buy several basic kitchen items that the house did not have (cork screw, knife, etc..). The pool is beautiful, but not very clean, the water was cloudy most of our stay. A few days I was afraid to go in the pool at all. With a little TLC this could be a beautiful home.

Beautiful, secluded Oasis.

Beautiful grounds, wonderful pool area and many places to relax and spread out for a large group. The house is pretty basic, but I expected that from the previous reviews and kitchen is not ideal for meal prepping (again, mentioned in reviews) and this did not bother me. Over all beds were clean, house was bug free, comfortable, a/c units worked very well, staff was very accommodating and we are not here to be indoors anyways. Thank you Daniel and your staff. It was a wonderful trip.

Everything you need in a vacation!

15 girls, including myself, stayed here for my bachelorette party. I can not sing enough praises about this place. We ordered the chef service which ended up being around the same price as ordering groceries. There was plenty of water, cups, plates, etc for all of us. The lush property is a constant reminder of paradise and the beach was so unbelievably nice. The maids and on-site maintenance attendant were so helpful with everything. Even ordered one of the girls a taxi when the pre-ordered one we scheduled didn't show up. The hospitality was wonderful. My only regret was not bringing enough tip money!

Great location & very beautiful tropical grounds & pool

My group of 9 adults stayed @ Twin Villas to celebrate a 50th birthday. The grounds are beautiful! Very lush & secluded. We all loved the elevated palapa overlooking the beach & ocean. The heated pool was great, especially at night. Abraham & the other staff were friendly & responsive when we needed help. We felt safe in this location & appreciated the guard outside the main entrance. As other reviewers noted, the villas were clean, but dated & very basic. Things like new showerheads & newer towels and blankets would add a lot to the villa. The location & grounds are definitely the highlight of this property. We hired the private chef for 2 days & had mixed feelings. The menus had a good variety of foods including Yucatan specialties. Food was very flavorful & the presentation was nice. Arturo the server was friendly & professional. It was a real treat for our group to gather @ the large outdoor table to enjoy custom-made meals. The only negative was that we didn't receive the amount of food promised. The chef fee was $25 /person for 2 meals /day, but w/a minimum of 15 people, so min. $375 /day. My group was only 9 & I clarified in advance that if I paid the min $375 /day I would receive enough food for 15 people. This way we would have leftover food to eat on the days the chef was not cooking. I was assured that I would get food for 15 people, but none of the meals even came close to being enough food for 15 people. It was just enough for the 9 people we did have. Knowing that I would have a large amount of leftover food was a key factor in deciding to hire the chef because with only 9 people the per person cost was over $41 per day which was a lot more than I could justify spending. On the 1st day the chef cooked, we had a small amount of leftovers which were kindly put in our refrigerator. We enjoyed these the next day for lunch. However, the 2nd day the chef cooked there definitely was some leftover food, but we were never given any of it - not found in the villas & no explanation. Also, for our last dinner, we chose Menu 2 with beef, chicken & pork but they did not serve any chicken. Again no explanation & we didn't seem to get any extra of the beef & pork. So we enjoyed the meals, but were disappointed that we didn't get what we paid for. Despite the food issues we had an enjoyable stay at the Twin Villas. I recommend this property for the location, lush grounds, pool & the hard-to-find 6 bedrooms w/private baths.

It is a magical tropical paradise!! Very private

There is plenty of space with 2 separate apartments on top of each other with each bedroom having a private bathroom. Lots of areas throughout the property to hang out and relax There are hammocks in multipje areas. The pool is beautiful and the outdoor eating space very spacious. The beach is beautiful and private. I can’t think of a better way to spend time with our kids and grandkids The owner was easily accessible and helpful. The property is about 30 min from Playa del Carmen and 40 min from Cancun. The apartments aren’t fancy but very comfortable and inviting. Perfect for us!! We loved our trip and would rent here again!!
