The room was amazing, lovely big comfy super king bed and huge bathroom. The imcluded breakfast was also great.
Only drawbacks are the live music at the weekend is extremely noisy and goes on till around midnight. The street noise can also be an issue with the window open which you will want as the room can get quite hot.
Overall, very nice place but the lively surroundings bring it down a notch.
Friendly staff. Room seemed newly decorated, not overly big but king size comfortable bed, nice bright bathroom. Only downside was ill fitting curtains which caused sunlight to enter bedroom a bit earlier than necessary! Not a major complaint - maybe blinds would work better.
Parking could be a problem, spaces for around 10-12 cars, first come first served. On a busy main road through Pitlochry so only half hour parking available there. We did find a side street a short walk away where we parked safely overnight.
Breakfast had plenty choices, served to your table by friendly staff.
Nice hotel. Newly renovated. Ceilings are very low - if you over 6 feet, you may be uncomfortable. Shower is C- for UK. Very low water pressure. Arrived late so restaurant was closed.
Lovely hotel enjoyed the facilities service could have been better very slow at times the exception was one member of staff (Dylan) who worked very hard to cater to the needs of the guests and his manner was excellent.
Great bar although a tad expensive. Rooms are warm and comfortable. Restaurant is good but can be busy. Staff friendly and helpful. Limited parking at rear. Great position on the main road in the middle of town.
Visited a few times and will return.

our room was across the street in the annex of the hotel. so away from the main lobby area. Looked like the annex was being renovated as when you walked in , looked like they were about to put carpeting down. room was on the street - noisy and hot. no fan available and no water in the room except from the faucet.
Room was clean and comfortable. Large bathroom. Limited parking at hotel.
Small insignificant reception area for hotel guests. Surely an establishment of this size could do better?
Priority for McKays is obviously food and bar areas which were ok.
I would not accept room 102 again due to the constant banging of the door outside that led to an inner corridor. We were awakened at 6:30am each morning when movement around the hotel started and people were moving through door into the corridor. Despite us reporting this to reception, nothing was done.
McKay’s asset is its restaurant/bar staff who were excellent.
Great little hotel in Pitlochry. Room was a little on the small side but staff were amazing and bedroom and bathroom were very clean.

Night away
Staff were very helpful friendly. Food and drink was good there was somd live music that we enjoyed.
The toilet in the bar area smelt disgusting needs a good deep clean. Ross was ok but definitely not 5 star
We loved Pitlochry and McKay's and the spaciousness of the cottage. I will say it was very loud at night with people going by and cars and house is very loud when anyone moves around. Ear plugs definitely needed for a good night's sleep.
