Book Pen-y-Park hotels

We stayed in one of the wilderness cabins. It was really sweet and felt like a tree house type vibe. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of the birds. The food at the restaurant was excellent and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel advertises the fact that they have a 2 year plan for refurbishment etc and state that the rooms are professionally cleaned and then sealed. We didn't find any evidence of this, either from the cleaning point or the sealing of the room, and would point out that the "professional cleaners" may want to buy a new vacuum cleaner because the one they are using doesn't pick up very well from the carpet. On arrival at the room we noticed that there was just one solitary teabag, barely enough milk and sugar for two cups of tea. Again this is usually something the cleaning staff would cover. We were going out for the evening and asked at reception for more teabags, milk, sugar. When we arrived back we found these items outside the room in the corridor on the floor in a tea cup! When we were leaving for the evening besides the teabags etc that we asked for we also asked if the toilet seat could be fixed because it was hardly secured and was in grave danger of causing someone a mischief. We were told that the maintenance man would be asked to sort it out. Unfortunately he either didn't take any notice of the request or wasn't asked because it hadn't been fixed by the time we returned. To exit the hotel is an archway which contained dog poo bags in one corner and a couple of 5 gallon containers of used cooking oil against the wall with approx another 10 containers just outside. There are other detrimental facts but this review doesn't allow more than 1500 characters.

No breakfast option. The location is perfect. Peaceful, tranquil.

Top class staff friendliness. Fantastic getaway! Sunday lunch was great too.
