Review of Amari Resort
Very disappointing stay. We had to change rooms on arrival due to cleanliness and a faulty bathroom power outlet — yet even in the new room the bathroom outlet still didn’t work. Rooms are run down, cupboard light wouldn’t switch off, lighting was either all on or all off, and barely enough space for one suitcase.
The resort layout is impractical with over 100 stairs just to reach reception. For a property of this size, golf carts or guest transport should be provided — many other guests were also frustrated.
Breakfast was poor: undercooked scrambled eggs sitting in liquid, limited fruit, no avocado, and sweetened juices. Laundry was absurdly overpriced per item, while 500m away a full 1kg load cost just 100 baht. Drinks were also more expensive than in Australia.
The shuttle to Patong Beach runs only three times a day, far too limited given the distance. And despite marketing itself as a “beach resort,” there is no real beach access — just a shore wall, with the tide often leaving no beach at all.
The only thing going for this hotel is its staff, friendly, kind and caring.
