Holidays in Papara

You can never really know a city until you amble around its neighbourhoods, so how about hitting up Papara? Whether you want to meet the locals or just go someplace cushy for a bevvy, you'll find this suburb 16 kilometres southwest of downtown Tahiti. Many travellers make their way via Tahiti Faaa International Airport, which is the nearest terminal. From there, Papara is a journey of 25 kilometres to the southeast.

Many of this city's leading attractions are dotted near Papara, and the Tahiti International Golf Course and Marae Arahurahu Temple are two of the very best. You should also be sure to drop by Marae Mahaiatea and Mataiea. For a different perspective on the city, organise an outing to Papao and Paea, close-by neighbourhoods that are definitely worth a peek.

Wonderful check in staff and porters….our flight was 2&1/2 hours delayed leaving the west coast that added to the 9+hr flight time…the staff was accommodating and helpful….TY!!

With a stay at Tahiti Airport Motel in Faaa, you'll be in a shopping district, within a 10-minute drive of Papeete Market and Marina Taina.
This was a perfect stop on our way to Moorea and needed to rest between flights. No shuttle and if you have bags best to take a taxi. (not cheap) and it's up a hill and not easy to get to but right near the airport.
