We arrived at 21:40 and asked if we were able to order food. We were told that the kitchen was closing and we would have to wait till 11pm till the next shift came on before we could order. We asked for the menu so we could decide what we wanted to be told “I don’t know the menu, I think you can get pizza, soup and stuff” I asked again if there was not a menu to be told to go to our room and look for one as the staff didn’t know. I asked another member of staff for a menu to be told there wasn’t any. In the whole restaurant. Even though people had been eating the food they had previously ordered before the kitchen shut.
We sat and waited till 11pm to be able to order food, and when the gentleman came on shift at 11pm he seemed surprised that we hadn’t been able to order. I’m only sorry we never caught his name because he was the most efficient person who was there. He managed to find a menu straight away and told us what we could order from it. He also told us that he had to cook it too. Amongst all the other things he was trying to do he brought us a beautiful chicken pizza and an egg mayo sandwich. We eventually got to our room at 00:10, a full 2.5 hours after our arrival. Only the gentleman who came on shift at 23:00 seemed bothered about actually providing any form of hospitality, the staff finishing their shifts didn’t seem to care one way or another about providing any kind of service, merely suggesting we got a Deliveroo if we were hungry.
