With Canuelo Beach and Nerja Caves to check out, you're not gonna be short on things to do. If you want to visit Nerja, consider the Nerjaluna and Apartamentos Abril. Or, you could consider staying in Salobrena, 17 kilometres to the southeast of Otivar, where you can pick from the Best Western Hotel Salobreña and Hotel Avenida Tropical. Whether you're just passing through or staying in Salobrena, set aside some time to visit Salobrena Beach and Almunecar Beach.

Make your way 40 kilometres north and you'll come across Granada, a regional centre with a population of 230,000. While you're checking out this neck of the woods, get your tourist on at Generalife, Alhambra and the Granada Museum of Fine Arts. If you're in the area for a bit longer, keep the good times rolling with a visit to Archaeological Museum of Granada and Mirador de San Nicolas. There's a wide selection of hotels in Granada, with the Parador De Granada and Hospes Palacio de Los Patos topping the list.

Unless you're going to set up camp at Malaga Airport, it might be wise to book some accommodation. The Riu Belplaya - All Inclusive is close by, or you could always travel into Otivar's centre. It's 70 kilometres away.

I had a mixed experience at Sibarys Hotel Boutique. The breakfast was nice, but unfortunately the rest of my stay left a bad impression. My room was on the first floor right by the reception, and the noise carried a lot. I was woken up in the middle of the night by people being loud in the lobby area, which made it hard to rest. What was most disappointing, though, was the end of my stay. I was about to leave my room at checkout, and it was only 12:02 when the receptionist came and told me, in a very irritated tone, that “check out is at noon.” I would have understood if I had been significantly late, but being rushed out over two minutes felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. I’ve never experienced that at a hotel before, and it left a very negative final impression. Because of that, I don’t think that I would stay here again. The location was good though, and walking distance from all the beaches.
