Spain's capital city, Madrid, is situated roughly 400 kilometres to the north of Orgiva.

One of the local region's most iconic attractions is Alhambra. You can find it in Huetor Vega, 35 kilometres northwest of Orgiva.

Think about taking a picnic for a relaxed bite by the water at Nerja Beach or Burriana Beach.

We all know that simply spending time in nature is good for your mind and body. In light of that, why don't you make your way 40 kilometres out of Orgiva to Nerja Caves? Mulhacen, just 25 kilometres away, is one more recommended option.

Enjoy the excitement of attending a live soccer match at Estadio Nuevo los Carmenes, the home of the Granada FC. After you've cheered along with their passionate fans, why not enjoy a drink with a few of them somewhere nearby? To get to the stadium, head 35 kilometres northwest to Zaidin.

Feel the icy breeze in your hair as you zip down the mountain at Puerto de la Ragua. If you're really chasing that fresh powder, you should also load up your gear and head to Escuela de Esqui y Montana Al Andalus Activa.

Don't forget to go to other close-by attractions, such as Poqueira Gorge and the Alpujarras Gate. These are situated 6 kilometres north in Carataunas. Don't want to give back the hire car just yet? Castle Lanjaron and the Water Museum are in Soportujar, 7 kilometres to the north of Orgiva.

Spend some time strolling around Salobrena Beach, the Los Moriscos Club de Golf and the Ron Montero Winery. These attractions are all not too far from the centre of Salobrena, 20 kilometres to the southwest. If you're after more, Salobrena Castle and the Museo Histórico should also feature on your to-do list.

Located 100 kilometres to the west is Malaga Airport (AGP), the closest terminal. Be sure you have enough time to find it.
