Hotels in Okaihau
On the hunt for a hotel in Okaihau? Unfortunately, they're as few and far between as the hair on your great uncle Arthur's head. However, lastminute.com.au has plenty of digs to pick from if you venture further out. There are 30 accommodation options within 30 kilometres of Okaihau's main area. Just consider the drive a bit of extra sightseeing!
You might have to pull out your maps app and head outside the city to discover them, but the River Retreat and The Georgian Lodge are brilliant options. The Moon Gate Villa and the Treghan Luxury Lodge are two more fun places to check out.
After more options? The 88 Lodge is situated 17 kilometres away from the main central area, and the Kerikeri Homestead Motel & Apartments is 18 kilometres away. We'd also suggest the Avalon Resort and the Kerikeri Park Lodge. The first is 17 kilometres from downtown, while the second is 16 kilometres away.
Attractions and Hotels Near Okaihau
If you're a proud carrier of the wanderlust gene (no duh, you're here right?), then we're pretty sure you'll want to check out more of the Northland region. Historic mansions, art museums and history museums are a few popular sights that should be on your gotta-see list. If the outdoors are more your thang, make a date with Mother Nature and take time out in the area's beaches. Looking for more? Common activities in this part of New Zealand include mountain biking, so don't be scared to have a crack!
Don't skedaddle before you've checked out the Opononi Beach and Omapere Beach in Opononi. If you'd like to spend a night or two in Opononi, look into the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Hokianga and Opononi Resort. Or, you could consider staying in Coopers Beach, 45 kilometres to the northwest of Okaihau, where you'll find the Doubtless Bay Villas and Sanctuary in the Cove. The Butler Point Whaling Museum and Rangikapiti Pa Historic Reserve are some of the most popular points of interest to check out when visiting Coopers Beach.
If you're holidaying with the squad and your flight lands a bit earlier than theirs, why not head over to the Keriwin House and sort some accommodation? It's within a quick commute of Bay of Islands Airport, which is 13 kilometres from the centre of town.
