Everyone knows Aussies are pretty laid back, so consider chilling out a little longer and going to the Tabor Castle and Church of St. Martin in Zidani Most, 30 kilometres to the north of Novo Mesto. Or, you could consider staying in Žejno, 35 kilometres to the east of Novo Mesto, where you can pick from the Hotel Terme and Čatež Hotel. Saint Vid Church and Brezice Castle are up there with the most popular places to see when visiting Žejno.

Zagreb can be found 65 kilometres from Novo Mesto and has a population of 700,000.
