Its very dirty, we had to have 3 different room changes. Staff was equally as confused as us, first room was dirty then we paid for an upgrade then that room flooded then they “upgraded” us to an accessible room with a half working hot tub and then they didnt want to refund for the upgrade 1/10 experience!

Stayed in a Premium Queen. Disconnected phone in both room and on floor I stayed on. Broken ironing board that was never replaced even after 6 requests made through their SMS chatbot. The room itself was okay. Cute coloured lights behind the TV. Small, yet felt modern. Unfortunately the rudest hotel front desk staff I’ve ever encountered overshadowed the cute room. Front desk took down my requests for ice bucket and working ironing board and never asked for my name or hotel room number until I reminded them to. They did however offer me complimentary eye rolls anytime I approached the desk. Rooftop patio is misleading as it’s a separate restaurant that is not part of the hotel. There is ZERO outdoor space unless you purchase food/drinks from the restaurant. No readily available ice buckets so you have to put ice in a thin plastic bag that rips. The ice buckets they do provide are made of thin PAPER that leak. Checking bags before check in costs 3.00 USD per bag even though the site states “complimentary”. Having to pay 200.00 CAD the moment we arrived for amenities was the icing on the cake as looking back, there were zero amenities! Do not book with Yotel unless you want to travel down to the front desk anytime you have a request as phones seem to all be disconnected and text messaging room service is ignored. Unfortunate because Expedia failed to intervene and help return some of the SURPRISE fees that were NOT advertised before booking. Will not be using Expedia again.

Air conditioning did not work which was fixed, but broke again the next day. TV only had one station and was replaced, but not hooked up correctly. Given a different room because of air conditioner. That TV worked. Partner got stuck on the elevator because another guest jammed the door and partner had to “squeeze” through the opening of the door injuring his left shoulder. My daughter stayed in another room and the bathroom sink had not been cleaned. Good location near Time Square, but won’t be staying at Yotel again.

The bell staff were more helpful for both checking in and out than the front desk people. There was this man at the front desk who was extremely rude and didn’t give us any information about checking in and why we were waiting for our room to be ready when we were already told that it’s clean and all set

Wonderful service with a view.

The hotel is ideally situated, close to midtown but just far enough off Times Square to be quiet. The staff was friendly and very available for questions. The view was great, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spotlessly clean. This will be my go-to spot in New York.

Decent But Frustrating Stay

No personal interaction at check in at kiosks. Initial room provided was dirty. Had to lug bags back downstairs, which entails going to a mezzanine and then to the lobby, each time going up or down to rooms. Lots of city noise and I ended up on the top floor. I didn’t need service in my room as my stay wasn’t very long and housekeeping removed my do not disturb sign and cleaned my room, twice. The only positive was that it was close to my destination for work.

When I first checked in I was approached by a greeter who assisted on helping me check in. I paid for early check in and when I got my room it was something out of a nightmare! The room smelled like straight bleach! Decor destroyed, sheets dirty, shower I wouldn’t even step in. I went to the front desk waited a while, however the manager tried her best to make the situation better. Got me a room with a view. However I wouldn’t recommend, too many hoops especially after a 6hr flight..just if you could go somewhere else then do it. I changed to this one from the Hilton last minute because I thought to try something new…
