Love the bathtub in the room and love the bed. The shower heat was slightly lower than the tub heat. Perfect place to stay if you want to easily travel all over NYC

Loved the location and the rooms itself, however the speed of the elevator (the wait for it rather), how cramped the floors felt, and the fact that you could hear everything outside of the room left room for a removed star for the overall experience. We also were not able to enjoy the free water bottles and fresh cookies that were advertised everywhere, instead we were told to fill our waters in the gym, water refill station (which was fine but the elevator wait made it an overall mission to get to every time). Overall, we had a great stay, and would stay again but wanted to make sure those cons were spelled out so next guest could make a better informed decision.

For starters hardly any staff speaks English in this hotel. This makes it hard to ask for simple things like room cleaning or an extra towel. Not a huge deal but it’s a factor. At checkin all I get is you are missing out on points because you use use honors app. Ok 1 I knew that, 2 at 12am I don’t really want to hear that stuff but just get me in a room. Once we got checked in the elevators are so slow, this never got better and is a primary factor in my poor review of this hotel. Staff also take it open themselves to take priority over guests when it comes to riding the elevator. Room itself. The room was actually decent sized and the layout was fine. There were small annoying flies coming from the bathroom for the whole week I was there. The ac fan cannot be made to run continuously and the AC at times seems limited. The area in front of the fan would be freezing and the rest of the room is warm. The shower had great hot water but the door let water leak onto the floor which took a constant towel in the floor to keep dry. The lobby is on the second floor meaning all new arrivals are in contention with the elevator just for checkin. Overall I would not stay here again.

Between 1) the dog barking ALL night from the next door room - you know, through the thin door connecting the two rooms… 2) the room phone that does not work, and does not connect to the front desk.. 3) the 2 out of 3 elevators that do not work, and the one working elevator needs a solid 10 minutes to arrive. 4) the front desk staff that never delivered towels after you wasted a 20 minute round trip there… way to go DoubleTree.

The lobby is nice and comfortabe but too busy as most people cant check into their rooms until 4. Its nice for informal meetings but hard to take work calls at the lobby.Being in the financial district, the shopping options are not great and one has to take a train to other places- though the train options are great. a couple of eating options too around the hotel
