I recently stayed at Aliz Hotel Times Square through Expedia, and my experience was frustrating. For my first stay (May 6-8, 2025), I requested an upgrade because the room was very small and had no city view as promised. The hotel refused, citing no availability, but still charged me for an “upgrade” I never received. For my second stay (May 8-9, 2025), I had fully prepaid for a city view room via Expedia and confirmed it with them. However, upon arrival, the hotel placed me in a standard double room with no city view. When I questioned this, they insisted it was a normal room and only offered the city view after charging me again for an “upgrade” without prior notice. This deceptive practice of charging for upgrades that were never provided and not honoring the room type I paid for in advance is unacceptable

My husband and I had a pleasant experience! The deluxe room seemed much larger online but it was sufficient for our short visit. Being greeted with an offer of a cocktail was a plus after a tough morning of travel! Will consider rebooking on our next trip!

Aliz Hotel was a WIN!

It is a great hotel with some nice amenities. The restaurant and bar were very good -- although some of the staff there were great and others surly. Beautiful views from the 39th floor. Maids and front desk staff were very helpful.

The front desk staff was extremely rude and unhelpful, which really set a negative tone for the stay. The room was small, but that’s expected for New York. The drink tokens were a nice touch and the location was convenient. However, the windows were poorly insulated and it honestly sounded like I was standing outside, even with them closed. On top of that, I was overcharged and told I’d just have to wait for a refund, with no real explanation or apology. When my card was declined due to my bank’s fraud protection, the front desk attendant made a scene instead of handling it discreetly. I was then locked out of my room and charged an extra $150, even though the original payment had already gone through on my bank’s end. Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. I wouldn’t stay here again.

It was a introvert dream stay with the quality pillow (6 counts of them) with plenty of sleeping space to form a body pillow, gorgeous bathrooms with magnificent lighting, a self-loving individual dream mirror placements.
