The room was clean. The staff at the time I entered the hotel was very helpful and pleasant. I love the floor to ceiling windows but wish they were wider. The lounge was very nice and staff kept it clean and as stalked as possible. I would definitely stay there again hoping to get on the 45th floor again because it had a wonderful view.

The hotel was good except for all the extra charges you weren't warned about. And the account statement at the end was sooo confusing. They deducted more from my bank account than what was stated was the deduction ion the settlement statement.

The hotel room I was in was old/outdated. The shower head came off during my shower. They did fix this promptly. The last night my key would not work and I had to go down to the desk twice to get new keys. Neither worked and they had to have security come up to let me into my room. I stood in the hall for some time before anyone came to help. My room was also not cleaned the last day but I was too tired to call and ask for housekeeping to come up after the fact.

It's part of the Marriott/Bonvoy family, but this is far from the Marriott. The service is noticeably lesser, or maybe it's just the color of my skin? I'm not kidding. Black guests were met with smiles and greetings while my wife and I got "what do you want?" I've experienced this in exactly two places; Japan, and this week in New Orleans. That aside, the hotel wasn't very "clean" feeling. There's layers of dust on the lobby chairs. There's BADLY peeling wallpaper around the elevators and some rooms (on the 14th floor where we stated). There's rust in the shower/tub combo. We stayed Friday-Monday, and saw housekeeping at 830am on Saturday when we didn't need anything, then never again. We left the hotel early Sunday to explore and returned around 1630 to find our room untouched. Trash and all. We dined in the Pelican Bar twice, the shrimp po'boy was excellent, and the chocolate cake was delicious too. Hats off to them, I have nothing but praise for the people working that room. We got room service once, 2x breakfast sandwiches that were little more than a hamburger bun, one fried egg, the smallest piece of avocado on Earth, and soggy bacon. a far far cry from what was pictured on the room service website. We also had breakfast in the Roux one morning. The bacon looked and tasted like it was cooked yesterday, refrigerated, and put under a heating lamp. Seriously the cold congealed fat was so unappetizing neither me nor my wife could finish it. Overall, not impressed.

The carpet is very dirty. The double beds are very small. 2 average dized people cannot sleep in the bed comfortably. I was not explained about the "Destination fee" when I was being charged for it. I did not learn about how the fee worked until I checked out. The guy Terrell checked me in. I feel scammed.For the price of the room, it was not a great experience. I will not be back.
