After a long day of checking out the sights, hop into a cosy bed at Vinje Turisthotel and Vossestrand Hotel and Apartments. They're a few of the hotels closest to the downtown area.

Looking for things to do? Kick back and spend the day enjoying the Hardangervidda Nature Centre and Kjeasen Mountain Farm. You'll find them in Eidfjord, 55 kilometres to the southeast of Myrkdalen. Really recommend stopping here for a night when doing the journey through the fjords. It was lovely to stop in a small village and visit the Viking Village as well. The room we had was amazing, it was Viking themed and had a window to look at the stars (weather dependant!). The bed was extremely comfortable as well. We had dinner in the restraurant as well which was good value and lovely food and a nice fireplace for drinks after dinner. The only let down was breakfast as we went a bit later in the allocated time and there was very little choice, so recommend going earlier in the allocated time for breakfast. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend .
