The Jewel Grande is pretty nice, the gardens, food selection, beach views and a wonderful and friendly staff. Our room, the junior suite was huge, and comfortable. The buffet staff, Tatianna was extremely kind, attentive and very friendly. The Italian restaurant was our absolute favorite. Again the hostesses and waiters were friendly and very attentive. The gift shop staff, Ashley was more than helpful as well has her coworker. The resort offers many excursions, Simone the tour guide registrar made our trip sign up a smooth process. Only one con, suggestion- it may be beneficial for the Resort to hire extra housekeeping staff, I had to call twice to have my room cleaned; however, housekeeping did come very late in the evening but did an outstanding job! Thank you.

Was a nice property, the breakwater is a real asset on windy days with rough water. Food was decent Staff was great Entertainment was.... Also for the money spent it would have been nice to have authentic drinks or real ingredients instead of the sugar/food coloring/flavoring for the pina coladas/ daiquiris

We loved how close everything was. It was easy and quick to get from one place to the next and easy to learn our way around. There are lots of stairs so if you rely on a stroller or have difficulty with stairs, you may want to avoid.

We recently stayed for my boyfriend’s birthday and overall we had a good experience. The beach was excellent, make sure you’re up early to snag a good chair on the beach. Sunrise was amazing and so quiet. The resort grounds are expansive as are the rooms. There are a lot of food options and the food was better than I expected. We had the jerk chicken on the beach everyday and it was great. We were frustrated by the noise, the nightly entertainment took place right under our window nightly and a DJ would play cheesy kids music for most of the night before that. We had several nights where they were doing some sort of construction below us that kept us awake. We found ourselves without hot water several days and there was a huge leak outside our room in the hallway the entire time we were there. They did cover the cost of our airport transfer for the inconvenience (I would also recommend you taking a cab over taking the airport shuttle bus.) There were several really sweet and helpful employees including Claude at the waterfront and Camille who organizes excursions. The front desk staff were also lovely especially on arrival. We had an enjoyable stay, the beauty of the beach made up for the shortcomings and I would recommend for that alone! If you don’t have kids maybe consider and adults only resort.

The food was excellent and the rooms were spacious, but the service was not where it needs to be. Our room had a broken balcony lock, the front door wouldn’t shut properly without shoving it and the washroom appeared dirty. It took forever for them to send someone up to fix the issues and they still didn’t get fixed. Any time we placed an order for a drink or coffee at breakfast, we had to remind the servers multiple times before we finally got served. And there were no activities that were fun on the resort which meant you had to leave it to be entertained. Their bbq jerk chicken was on point though.

Whilst good and service was good, we were disappointed by the standard of the room . It needed updating and smelled musty. Paint was flaking, wood was chipped and broken, furniture was old and in poor condition and there were mold spots on the curtains . For the cost of the holiday the standard of the accomodation did not match !

The best trip ever

Where do I start?? I visited with my family of 6 to celebrate my birthday and my butler Ronald made sure to make this birthday memorable! Many of the staff members would walk by me and wish me a happy birthday! I can’t wait to visit Jamaica again because I will definitely stay at Jewel again!

Property is well maintained and the staff friendly. Food was about a 3.5 star out of 5; however, you won't get hungry, plenty of options. The only restaurant needing reservations was the Asian but you needed to book days in advance booked days, so I can't rate this one because we couldn't get in. To be fair if I wanted to eat dinner at 9:00 pm we could have eaten there. During the week no issues getting chairs on the beach, until the weekend got there. We got a shady spot early, but people escaping the sun soon surrounded us by 1:00pm. Overall a great time!
