Holidays in Moncó

Take it from us, Moncó is the sort of place that's worth taking work off for. It's located in Asturias, a delightful region that's full of awesome beaches. Need we say more?

It lies 380 kilometres to the northwest of Madrid, the national capital of Spain.

Sitting 95 kilometres to the northeast, San Lorenzo Beach is a charming spot to while away an hour or two listening to the swell. Aguilar Beach also offers some pleasant scenery. You'll discover this stretch of coastline 70 kilometres to the northeast.

Mother Nature's splendour is on display in multiple places around Moncó. Just 30 kilometres away, Centro de Interpretacion is an excellent place to start. Oficina de Turismo de Bual sits 45 kilometres away and is another pleasing spot for some peace and quiet.

Spend your day moving between the ice-cold slopes and a seat beside the fireplace at Valgrande-Pajares and Fuentes de Invierno. From first timers to veterans, there's something to delight everyone at these snow-covered wonderlands.

Looking for even more attractions? Go to Cangas de Narcea, 17 kilometres north of Moncó, for San Juan de Corias Monastery and the Teatro Toreno. Alternatively, Palacios del Sil is 25 kilometres to the southeast, and it's here you'll discover Las Rozas Dam and Centro de Interpretacion del Urogallo.

Spend an afternoon visiting the Prada a Tope Winery, the Pittacum Winery and the Vino del Bierzo Winery. All of these attractions are near the centre of Cacabelos, 45 kilometres to the south. Need something else to do? Castro Ventoso and the Losada Vinos De Finca should also be on your travel list.

Discover the region from a different angle and partake in some mountain biking or rock climbing. They're both well-liked pastimes in this part of the world.

Cycling is a brilliant way to take a breather after a few lively days of sightseeing. If you feel like you could do with more time in the fresh air, how about going picnicking as well?

It's always tricky to say "Hasta la vista" to Moncó, but don't worry, it's not going anywhere!

From the middle of Moncó, it's approximately 150 kilometres west to Lavacolla Airport (SCQ). This is the closest airport. Make sure you allow yourself a bit of extra time to get there so you don't miss your plane!
