A good choice if you are staying in central Milan. The property needs a facelift, as it is old. However, it's clean and had the amenities you can expect. Breakfast had many options. The room was quite small.

We stayed here for only 2 nights with our 3 granddaughters so we could take day trips to Switzerland and Lake Como. They hotel was very nice with a reasonable buffet breakfast. Only problem was bedroom is upstairs and it’s a tiny circular stairway to bring in large suitcases. We left luggage downstairs and only brought u essentials.

There are many hotels close to Milano Centrale, but I chose to stay at Hotel Berna and found its perks making it special. First, the front desk staff. They are mature hospitality professionals who do their utmost to assist. The two gentlemen in the evening were excellently & patiently dealing with other patrons while I observed them! The small alcove in the lobby with bottled water, snacks and tea sachets & hot water dispenser were really a treat! My room was small but very quiet which I needed. A minor issue: my safe was left open with the bolts out from a previous guest making it temporarily unusable (which a staff member helped to fix upon request). Also the housekeeping staff cleaned the bathroom but took away the liquid hand soap dispenser (which the same staff member replaced). Overall: great location for proximity to the train station, lovely neighborhood with many locals in small parks, some eateries nearby, a terrific gelato shop and the very long Corso Buenos Aires shopping street.

Cool and comfortable

It was just a very quick overnight stay so I didn’t ask anything of the staff and had no problems. Everyone was courteous and helpful. The hotel is dated and the room small, but I think this is very normal at this price point. Milan is expensive so I was just happy to have something quiet and comfortable with good air conditioning and an overhead fan. It is a heatwave here at the moment and the hotel was very cool.

The staff was excellent and the proximity to the central station was great! One of the rooms was great. The other was less updated than the other and the ceiling in the bathroom was not painted after some work had been completed. The carpet in the room and other areas of the room looked very dated.
