But take a quick drive out and you'll have more choice than you can shake your credit card at. There are 33 various types of accommodation within a 30-kilometre radius of central Midori, so you're sure to find the digs you're looking for.

Enjoy some 'you time' away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Midori at Senkyou or Nikko Hoshinoyado. The Shisuitei and the Nikko Senhime Monogatari are a few more places worth checking out.

After more options? The Nikko Sansui can be found 25 kilometres away from the main central area, and the Hotel Route-Inn Ashikaga Ekimae is 25 kilometres away. The Hotel Route-Inn Dai-Ni Ashikaga, 25 kilometres away, and the Hotel Route-Inn Court Fujioka, 35 kilometres away, are some alternate choices.

Property was conveniently located near both train stations, plus bus stations, in this beautiful town. Rooms were spacious and functional with classic (dated) decor. Worked well for our one night stay. Breakfast buffet was included (a first during our travels). The main area of town, plus most sites, were within walking distance (slightly up-hill) or a bus ride away, if preferred.
